Steve knocked on Lee's hotel room door. The guy at the front desk was reluctant, until Steve mentioned he was her father.

Steve wondered what he would see. Lee opened the door and looked at Steve. He was standing there like a fish out of water. She opened her door wide enough for him to slip past her. He did.

She leaned across the table as he situated himself on the bed.

"So SangMin killed your mother." Steve said.

"You don't waste anytime. Yeah he did. I thanked him. He had the guts to do what I wished I could." Lee said.

"What did you do after that?"

"We moved to San Diego, I loved it. That's where I first met my grandmother. Your mother. She didn't seem to care too much for me. I asked her if she would tell you about me, she said no. I'm guessing she didn't lie." She said.

"I don't really talk to Doris much. I can't trust her. Haven't been able to since I was 15 when she faked her own death."

Lee exhaled, "Wow. So...that's the thing we have in common. Crappy mother's. I thought we would."

Steve nodded. "So you and uh...Wo Fat... how'd that happen?"

"After my Dad got arrested he was the only person I could turn to. I realized he wasn't that bad for an older guy, he was getting me out of hell, so I thanked him by marrying him."

"You wanted to marry Wo Fat?"

"Yes. I know it probably sounds weird, but I love him. He comes off as careless and brash and-

-and a sociopath." Steve interrupted.

"Well yeah. But I love him. Your mother told me all the things you've done to each other. Both of you sound pretty crazy. I can't point fingers. He was kind of haunted when he remembered what he had done."

"Haunted? He ruined lives. He's killed dozens of people. He's not careless, he's merciless. He has no regard for humans." Steve said, angrily.

"I'm sure some of the people connected to people you've put in jail or killed think that about you. I'm sure people that know what SangMin did for me think I'm a victim, I'm not. SangMin saved my life. Literally. My mother's boyfriend broke into the house to choke me to death for finding out he had an STD. SangMin shot him. Then my mother went after him with a knife. People say killer, I say, Hero. Just because you don't like it, doesn't make it wrong."

Steve sighed. He was agitated. Lee could tell.

"Do your mother really...let her boyfriend's...-" Steve struggled so Lee finished his question.

"Rape me? Yes. Since I was 8." She said. Steve hung his head. He was extremely sad but he was more angry.

"I'm going to send SangMin a thank you card. Did she tell you about me?"

"Yeah. Not at first. She said she hated looking at me because I reminded her of you. Eventually after she broke up with her last boyfriend, she talked about you the one time I asked. SangMin of course knew who you were before I even met him. Wo Fat lied to me about knowing you, but your mother blew the lid off that."

Steve nodded. "I know how you feel about Wo Fat, but I need you to realize that he could be living a double life. I don't want to see you on the bad side of that."

"I understand. He very well could be living a double life. But he was before I met him. He had this horrible past that he couldn't remember. If you find him. I want to talk to him. If he has to go back to prison, I want to know if he wants me to leave him or not."
