before the stroke of midnight, your arms were wrapped around me as i leaned into your embrace.

you laid soft kisses on the crown of my head as it rested against your chest with our legs tangled together.

as we looked at the stars that shone above us, you told me to wish on the brightest one that i could see.

without any hesitation, i looked up at you and made my wish before you could catch me in the act.

once you had made your wish too, i looked at you with so much curiosity as i asked you what you had wished for.

you looked at me with a bright smile and replied that you had not made one since you had everything you ever wanted.

my cheeks lightened up as i playfully flicked your forehead for your cheesiness which simply caused you to laugh.

i took your free hand and planted a kiss upon it before we continued to look at the starry night once more.

all that time, i couldn't help myself from wondering.

was there a star up there looking at us?
