"what was it like when we loved each other?"

when you asked me this question, there were a thousand moment that i could use to describe the feeling but one stood out the most.

mainly because it showed off your so called creativity though i was sure you had read in it a book.

on that day, i had saved a tub of ice cream that i was so excited to eat yet when i opened the freezer, it was no longer there.

instead, it was in your stomach as you continued to eat it with no clue that it belonged to me.

with a frown on my face, i walked to my bed and lied down as i tried to block out everything else that was related to you and ice cream.

after a few minutes, i heard you enter the room and felt your presence as you tried to wrap your arms around me but i pushed your advances away and turned on my side so i wouldn't have to face you.

i listened to all of your whines yet i chose to not acknowledge you since i still felt betrayed that you would eat my ice cream without my permission.

i know i sound a little petty but it was for good reason too since it was rare that i treated myself with my favourite confectionery.

when i no longer felt you lying behind me with the sound of your footsteps, i closed my eyes and tried to forget about the disappointment lit up in me.

for a few minutes, i was stuck in that position until i felt the cold air kiss my skin with the tingles running up and down my spine.

when i reached over for my beloved blanket, i began to mentally curse as i realized that i had placed in the washing machine.

with nothing to protect me, i was left to curl up as i tried to keep the warmth that was still ignited in me.

i kept my arms around myself with nothing to hold me until i felt your arms wrap around me.

i wanted to push you away but the warm feeling that you gave me was enough for me to surrender to your touch.

you brought me closer to your embrace as your hand began to tangle itself within my hair with a melody slipping from your lips.

as the sounds came to an end, along with your hand, i let out a small whine for i wanted it to last longer.

i faced you with a pout on my face but it immediately disappeared as i realized that it was all a ploy for you to get my attention again.

feeling a little annoyed with the both of us, i tried turning back around but you kept locked in a hug with your fingers running through my hair once more.

rather than continuing to hold a mini grudge, i decided to let it go since i knew that you always had me wrapped around your finger.

your lips lingered close to the shell of my ear as you whispered, "you are the sunlight that rose again in my life."

though my eyes were already closed, i silently answered you with the words that lingered on the tip of my tongue.

you are the cause of my euphoria.
