"Death is not the greatest loss of life.
The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live."
Chapter four.
"Darling, why are you crying?"
Wonho rushed to the younger's side, pulling Kihyun into his warm embrace at 9 in the morning, after putting down a tray of breakfast dishes onto a nightstand.
"Are you... using me?"
Kihyun asked with tears dripping in his eyes. He woke up this morning with a horrible headache, with his clothes all over the floor, and with his body painted in hickeys and red, purple spots. Also, with no one besides him.
It occurred to him how he was drinking uncontrollably last night. And having sex, Kihyun had to stop for a moment to finally realize how loosened he had left his lifestyle. He could've been dead. And all this wouldn't have happened.
"No, of course not. I would never use you, Kihyun."
Wonho was taken aback by Kihyun's thought. Did he really look like that kind of man?
Kihyun didn't say anything back. He wasn't sure what to say, how to react. What now? Forcing Wonho to take responsibility? Telling Wonho whatever happened last night should be put behind and never to be brought up ever again? Kihyun was greatly confused.
"Kihyun... I truthfully care for you. I know, I shouldn't have done all that in your drunken state, and we haven't gotten much closer. But I want to be a part of you life. I want to be there for you, with you... Will you - Will you let me?"
Kihyun had been through all the worst situations in life. Been cheated on, been betrayed, been lied to, been broke, been jobless, still, he wanted to trust Wonho. At the same time, give himself another chance to feel... alive.
Everyone might have different purposes in their lives, but in the end, all people had ever wanted, were just as simple as to love and to be loved. What would happen in the future, Kihyun could never predict. But for now, he chose to love the man by his side.
"People leave. They all do. You're the only one I have... Please don't leave me."
Kihyun couldn't foresee how their relationship would become, neither could Wonho. But for now, he chose to stay, he chose to not be like people.
He chose to love Kihyun.
Like how Kihyun chose to love him.
Their morning soon became sweeter than ever, with Wonho feeding Kihyun some of the best chocolate chips pancake he had ever tasted, while being wrapped in his strong, protective arms.
"Don't you have to go to work?" asked Kihyun curiously.
"I'm on my days off."
"What do you do for a living?"
"I'm an accountant."
Wonho was incredibly good-looking, had great body, and an admirable personality, of course he would be doing some high salary job.
Unlike Kihyun himself...
"My mother has a desserts shop nearby, and she's hiring..."
"Can I work for her?"
Before Wonho finished his sentence, Kihyun cut him off.
"Well... yeah."
