school isn't actually that bad BUT I extremely dislike MY LANGUAGE ARTS CLASS! NO ONE, I MEAN N O O N E, CAN READ VERY WELL AND THEIR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR SUCKS, THEY GET BAD GRADES ALL THE TIME, THEY DONT DO THEIR HOMEWORK, AND I GET LOOKED AT WEIRDLY FOR ACTUALLY DOING ALL THE "SMART STUFF". UGH MY TWO FRIENDS AMD I ARE THE OMLY SMART PEOPLE UNFFFFFFF.
um anywayyyyyyyy
y'all that was kinda rude of me, but oh well i had to say something lmao
--------
Hermione's POV
Draco shrugged at me after Luna rounded the corner.
"Well....that was interesting." I laugh.
"Agreed."
"Um, well, I guess I'd better be going. See you!" I chirp. Draco mutters a quick bye as I hoist my bag onto my shoulder. Off to find Harry and Ron. They're probably in the Great Hall, Ron pigging out on whatever was for breakfast. I practically run to the Great Hall, and when I get there, I find my assumptions correct. Harry is immersed in the Daily Prophet, Ron sitting beside him shoving french toast in his mouth. Ginny is sat across from them, her mouth open in astonishment at how fast Ron is eating. I smile and bound across the room, and wrap my arm around Ginny, feeling her jump at my touch.
"Hey Gin," I laugh. "How are you?"
"Hermione! You scared me!" She shrieks. Harry grins over the top of the Prophet, his eyes full of laughter. Ron, on the otherhand, doesn't find this amusing. He swallows noisily, then says slowly,
"So..."
"Yes?"
"Where were you last night? We had a date! We were gonna sneak off to Hogsmeade, Hermione!" Ron sighs.
"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry! McGonagall kept me late and I realized I still had homework, and I knew I'd never get it done in the common room! So, I went to the Room of Requirement, and I fell asleep! I'm sorry!" I hope that I covered up well enough and my face didn't give anything away.
"Alright then." Ron goes back to stuffing his mouth with toast, no further questions. Thank God.
"Ron, mate, we have to go. Don't want to be late to Divination. C'mon." Harry breaks the uncomfortable silence.
"Hermione and I should get going, too." Ginny agrees, looking at me. "Bye Harry. Ron."
"Bye Harry, bye Ron. See you in Care of Magical Creatures!" I grab my bag and Ginny pulls me out of the Great Hall and chatters until we seriously need to get to our classes.
"Bye, Gin! Have fun! See you at lunch!" I wave and head off towards Arithmancy, my first and probably favorite class. Let's see how appealing it is today, as I can't concetrate. Now that I think about it, I can't remember a word Ginny had said to me.
--------
Professor Vector dismisses us at the end of class, with a pile of homework. Wonderful, as I don't remember the lesson at all. Time for Charms, which flies by in a hurry, and then Care of Magical Creatures.
"Hi Hagrid!" Harry, Ron, and I say as we near Hagrid's house.
"Hermione, Harry, Ron. Nice ter see ya." Hagrid smiles.
"Wait, did someone just say it was nice to see the muggle-born?" A voice drawls. Ah, so we're going to keep up this pretense, are we?
"Well, it's not like anyone would be overjoyed to see you either, Malfoy." I retort back, turning on my heel to face him. He sneers at me, but his eyes show remorse. I glare back at him, but I'm pretty sure my eyes say sorry, too.
"Huh, I'm sure people would rather see me than your ugly beaver face." He says icily, and turns around, ending the coversation. It's then that I notice Pansy Parkinson hanging all over him, making puppy love faces. It sickens me to see that he's still leading her on like that. I almost feel bad for her, but not quite, as I'm still leading Ron on. I do love Ron, but Draco. He's just so different, and it's exhilarating. I watch him go quietly, my face probably fuming with anger.
--------
Draco's POV
I had to keep up the pretense of hating the Gryffindors, especially Granger, so I started an angry conversation with her. Her eyes showed regret, as mine probably did, also. That was right before lunch, and it's only two class hours until dinner and I'm still thinking about it. I wonder if she is, too.
"Draco...." A voice croons in my ear. Pansy. Annoying like always, begging for my attention.
"Not now, Pansy, I'm trying to pay attention." I whisper. It's not the truth, but I make an effort to pay more attention to Flitwick, as Pansy is watching my every move. Before I know it, Flitwick is dismissing the class with a foot essay on charms due next class. Great, I think sarcastically. I trudge along to my next class, Potions. Having to sit through an hour and a half of Snape talking and talking is not what I want to do right now.
--------
Finally, Potions is over, but I still have to learn how to make and Ageing Potion for next class. At least that's easier than the essay for Charms. I basically sprint to the Slytherin Common Room and drop my bag off, not caring where it lands. As I'm about to leave, something white on my bed catches my eye. I stop and pick it up, reading that it came from home. I tear it open, and the first thing I read, written in my father's handwriting, are;
"Draco,
How is the plan going? With the muggle girl?"
