SMG4 and Tari woke up early the next day, and they started to get prepared for what's to come. It is now the day of the tournament, and they are so determined to win this.
SMG4: You ready, Tari? Ready to compete against many teams in video games?
Tari: Of course I'm ready! I'm ready and so excited!
SMG4: Me too! Let's go now!
Tari: Okay!
Tari gave SMG4 a thumbs up, as they opened the door and saw a police officer in front of them.
Officer: Hand the duck over.
SMG4: Oh shit.
Tari: Are you here to... let us return the duck? *sigh* Fine.
Tari brought the duck to the officer so he would bring it back to the pond, as Tari started to shed a tear.
SMG4 (thoughts): OH SHIT!
SMG4: No, Tari. Please don't cry! Look, when the tournament is over, I'll try and find an actual, living, non-illegal pet duck. It will either be in the city's pet store, or possibly at the ends of the Earth. I swear, I will go to great lengths to make sure you will be happy again with a pet duck by your side! Before then, try to forget about what they done to poor Real Mr. Quackington. We have a tournament to win, Tari. Don't get too hard on yourself.
Tari stopped crying, wiped her tears, and hugged SMG4.
Tari: O-okay. Thank you, SMG4.
SMG4: You're welcome. Now come on. Let's get to that tournament.
Tari: Right!
They started running to the Mushroom Kingdom Arena, where the tournament is being held, as they saw that Fishy Boopkins and Bob were beside them. SMG4 and Bob started to stare at each other angrily.
SMG4: Ready to lose, Bob?
Bob: HeLl No. YoU'rE tHe OnE wHo'S gOnNa LoSe.
Fishy Boopkins: Let's not fight, Bob. Remember. We start fighting when we start playing.
Bob: OkAy, BoOpKiNs.
Tari: Trust me. We'll beat you two down hard!
Fishy Boopkins: No we won't! Come on, Bob! Let's go!
Bob: I'm ReAdY, bOoPkInS. bRiNg It On, YoU tWo!
They all went inside the arena, as an hour later, the host came in to begin the tournament.
Host: Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the annual Competition of Gaming! This is the team tournament, so if you're looking for the solo tournament, go to the east Mushroom Kingdom Arena!
Steve was in the audience.
Steve: Oh, damn it!
He walked away, as the host continued talking.
Host: Now, everyone, meet our teams!
There were 64 teams of two that walked up on stage, which is 128 people in total.
Host: We got 64 teams from the start. There will be 32 matches of two teams facing off against each other today, and we ensure that the rounds will become shorter and shorter overtime. If one team wins the round, they advance to the next round. If one team loses the round, they lose the tournament. Now that all the rules are explained, let's get to gaming!
Everyone cheered, as the teams headed backstage, with Tari's face very red.
