(Unfinished)
Circling high in the sky, I noticed another speck near me. I flapped closer, and saw that it was another crow.
I'll give you half of my prey if you help me, I showed to the other.
She noticed, and agreed, flying closer.
I showed her the fox, out in the open, who had just caught a rabbit.
She understood. Gliding down and landing in a tree, she expertly jumped down from it, holding her wing at an odd angle and hopping around. Sure enough, the fox tried to jump after her.
Hoping she wouldn't get hurt, I dived down and snatched the rabbit. She jumped up and flew after me.
I could hear the fox's howling and yipping, but I didn't look back. I never do.
As I turned, I noticed something about the other crow's appearance. Her breathing was labored and haggard, and her wingbeats were short and quick. Some of her tail feathers had lost their color and turned silver. I knew right away that she was old and near death. The only question was when.
She landed on a tree branch and wobbled there, dizzy.
