The pounding of the alarms startled Michael and Alice. They thought that the killer was driving the car, to come and get them and take them back into the forest. But, they killed her. The two were traumatised.

There were men rushing out of vehicles, papers in hand, running towards the two frightened, dirty teenagers.

"Are you both alright? We need to get you down to the station, immediately" one spoke, voice deep.

"We-we're okay. Our six friends d-d-di-died th-though. There's a group of f-four people left in the forest, but Alice and I just m-made a run for i-it" Michael stammered, eyes glassy. He was traumatised terribly, as was Alice.

"Instead of taking you to the station, we'll do it here, alright?" Another added in, voice soothing and sympathetic.

"O-ok" Alice spoke up.

"Can you please tell me what happened at first?" Another asked, pen in hand.

"Well, we were at a party, the eight of us. We went in the backyard and saw the forest. We just decided to go to the lake and then we were lead into the forest. Then we saw a house and then they all decided to enter. Me and my two friends stayed outside but after we heard the rest of the group scream we went in. We never saw our killer until just before when I s-shot her. There's four other people trapped in there" Alice spoke quickly, frightened and shocked. She felt like the killer was watching her, waiting to take her back into the forest and finish her off.

"Did you kill her?" He asked.

"I shot her and she didn't move, so I think so" Alice cried, squeezing herself into Michael's side.

"Good. We'll get some people to go in and find the other four. Meanwhile, we'll call your parents" another spoke up.

"Al-alright" Michael whispered.

The paramedics spent atleast twenty minutes helping the two clean up. The adolescents both required stitches and heavy bandaging.

Short moments later, they saw two small groups running frantically towards them both. They didn't have much of a reaction after seeing their families; they were too traumatised, and you can't blame them.

"Michael!" His younger brother screamed, running towards his towering figure. Michael stood stiff and still.

His brother embraced him into a tight hug as if he were holding on for dear life.

"We missed you" he whispered, tears rolling down his cheek.

"I missed you guys too, buddy" Michael sighed, wrapping his beaten, pained arms around his brother.

"Michael" his mother sighed, eyes glassy.

"Mum" he spoke, a small smile spreading across his lips.

"We were so worried about you! I'm glad you're oka-are those stitches?!" She practically yelled, eyeing the marks along his knee.

"Michael, so glad you're here. Where are the others? We saw Alice" his father began, making Michael cry rather hard.

"The-they didn't m-m-make i-it" he stammered, hiding his face in his hands.

"We're so sorry" they spoke, tones soothing and awfully sympathetic.

The two were too traumatised to speak much. They had just faced something people would go through in a horror film.

"Alice!" A familiar voice spoke, running towards her crouched body. It was her little sister.

"Hey, you" she sighed, engulfing her sister into her weak arms.

"I missed you" she spoke, holding on tighter.

"I miss you, too" Alice sighed.

She didn't want to talk. She just wanted to dig a hole and stay in it forever. She was damaged emotionally, and physically. She couldn't take it anymore.

"Alice, we're so glad you're okay!" Her mum yelled, engulfing her daughter into her shaky, pale arms.

"Yeah. I'm fine. The other six aren't" she sighed, tears rolling down her cheeks.

"What happened?" Her father asked, patting her back.

"T-they were ki-killed" she whispered, allowing a tear to roll down her cheek.

"Hey, baby, it'll be okay. They're in a better place now" her father spoke, rubbing her arms.

Michael and Alice were quiet for the remainder of the time they were standing outside. They kept eyeing the exposed parts of the forest, instincts telling them that the killer would come and kill them, even though they had shot her. They were greatly traumatised, and it would take several months to even begin to recover from a scenario like this.

It was just like a story out of a horror movie, Michael thought.

The two families grouped together, mumbling apologies to one another for the tragic losses of the other six. Michael and Alice were quiet, trying to prevent tears from escaping. So many unpleasant thoughts were spiraling through their minds, short memories of deaths playing.

They're gone, my best friends are gone, Alice thought.

"The killer! She's right there!" Michael yelled, tears spilling.

"What? Where?!" Alice screamed, falling to her knees.

"Michael, that's a paramedic" his brother spoke.

"N-no. I saw her" he gasped, burying his face into his hands.

People began staring at him, noticing how insane he had gone throughout the past week and a half.

"Excuse me, we're going to have to take them to the hospital now" a woman spoke, gesturing towards a large, white van.

They all nodded, following the officers and paramedics to the van. Michael and Alice were silent the entire time.

Michael stared out the window, sighing.

"Michael" Alice whispered, hand resting above his.

"Yeah?" He replied.

"We made it out alive. I promised you we would, and we did" she sighed.

"Yeah, but we lost them" he responded, tears rolling down his cheeks, again.

"I know... But they're in a better place now. They would be happy that we made it out. They will always be close to us, in our hearts. We love them, they love us. Maybe, just maybe, one day, we will all meet again" she laughed, sighing.

He smiled, for the first time in what felt like an eternity.

The car came to a stop, parked outside a large, expansive building.

The two families were escorted through the front entrance and up a few flights of stairs, until they reached a pale, white room.

"Welcome" a voice spoke, soothing and calming.

"Hi" Alice and Michael mumbled, walking in.

This is actually happening, we made it out alive, Michael thought.

We're alive, we're both really alive, Alice thought.

But, we lost our lives. Our lives were our six best friends, they are gone, they bought thought, sighing.
