I feel myself stir on a bed but somehow, I don't really remember getting into one.

I slowly open my eyes but the bright setting of the room around me forces me to shut my eyes again. I lift my arm to rub my eyes but it feels heavy and has something connected to it.

This situation brings me to a surprise as I jolt from the bed but a massive head takes over and I fall back.

"Ow," I say to myself.

"Nice job getting yourself in the hospital again," I hear the voice of my mother say from beside me.

"I'm sorry for the trouble," I apologize. She sounded mad. She was probably scolded by the doctor again.

"Let's make it clear to Dr. Byun that I had no contributions to you fainting this time," she says in a hurried manner as I hear shuffling from where her voice comes from.

I force my eyes open and squint in her direction, seeing colorful dots everywhere and the blurry figure of mother grabbing her purse.

"The doctor said you can leave once you finish this IV. He wouldn't let me leave until you've woken up and because of you, I'm late for work. If I'm anywhere near fired, you have yourself to blame if I kick you out of the house," she says before she rushes out in a hurry.

Right after she walks out the door, Dr. Byun comes in, tsking at my mother's actions.

"Are you alright?" He asks, playing the role of a father I've never had.

Whenever I was admitted to the hospital, it was always Dr. Byun that took care of me. He feel empathy for my situation and looks down at Mother.

"I'm fine. I just have a raging headache," I admit.

"That's what happens when you workout and faint. You fell and hit your head on the frame of your bed, admitting yourself into the hospital for malnutrition, overwork, and a minor concussion," he says in a surprised tone. I'm surprised myself. This IS my first concussion.

"I'm surprised myself?" I say in a questionable manner.

Fine I admit. I have been starving myself. It was kind of hard considering Taehyung was on my back about every meal I've eaten but it's what I've got to do.

Dr. Byun gives me a stern look... actually, more of a glare and crosses his arms.

"Did what your mother say about you doing this to yourself true?" He asks. Voice so strict that it practically says on its own, "if you lie, you die".

That tones always makes me metaphorically jump out of my own skin.

"Sorry!!!" I frantically cry out, embarrassed of my own actions.

"I've told you, Yoona. All that counts is that you are beautiful on the inside, even if you don't think that you are beautiful on the outside. I can see how nice and caring you can be and I bet someone else has already or is going to see you in the same light," he says. Comforting as it is, it's hard to believe anybody except this sweet old man will like me as I am.

"Yoona!! You're back!" Hoseok yells right as I walk to the group. He runs to me to give a welcoming hug.

"Yea. I had a concussion and needed to rest at home for a while," I respond sheepishly as I feel a glare against my back.

"How'd you get a concussion?" Jin asks tenderly, as I rub the back of my head at where the small bruise still rests.

"Long story short, I kinda fainted and hit my head on my bed. Oh hey! That rhymes," I exclaim, hoping to change the topic but to no luck, everyone continues to push about it.

Well, everyone except Taehyung.

"Where's Taehyung?" I question, looking around the group to find him.

"Weird. He was here talking before you got here. When did he leave?" Jimin asks, scrunching his eyebrows together.

Well that finally changed the topic but not for the better.

I take out my phone, my head beats from the flash of light but I endure it, as I pull up Taehyung in my contacts, labels as Taetae after Taehyung has put his phone number in my phone.

My thumbs fly across the screen and I text him, asking for his whereabouts but to no avail, he doesn't answer.

For the whole school day, Taehyung hasn't showed up to class, he hasn't been sitting next to me during lessons as per usual, and he wasn't there during lunch to make sure I was eating.

"Why don't you have lunch?" Namjoon points out as the rest of the group is digging into their home-packed or school bought lunch. To be specific, Namjoon has his lunchbox beside him but questionably enough, he's taking food from Jin's lunchbox.

"I had a big breakfast," I say, lying with the same word as what I've told Taehyung before.

"Oh, well. If you get hungry, I always pack extra food. I usually get hungry during class," Jungkook says, holding up his homemade tteokbokki.

"That's a kind offer but I don't feel hungry," I admit. I was getting my appetite while walking here, thinking that Taehyung was going to be here, even if her wasn't here all day during class, but after seeing his usual seat empty, the hunger just drained away.

"Are you worried for him?" Hoseok asks, with a big smirk on his face.

"Psh- no," I deny.

"Ooh! I think you like him," he teases.

He's got the wrong guy.

"It's not what you think," I say with a sad shrug. If he misunderstands, any chance with him will definitely deflate.

"I won't hesitate, Bitch!!" Hoseok screams out. Luckily, I get the reference or else, I'd probably be quite offended.

The whole table breaks out into laughter and the humor brings a smile to my face. As usual, Hoseok always knows how to make me laugh. That's what I like about him.

I just wonder where Taehyung is.

The thought wipes the smile off my lips and a frown takes over.

And for the rest of the day, I can't stop thinking about why Taehyung never showed up.
