<With Hitome>
It had been eight years since her parents' murder. Hitome was in a dark alleyway in one of the poorer districts of the Hidden Rain village. She was hiding at the back of a dead end alley, from the mob of villagers that were pursuing her. She's had to deal with, and suffer through all the villagers' abuse, for the eight long years since her parents' deaths. She wouldn't attack the villagers for fear that the Hidden Rain shinobi would get involved, so she just hid behind a trash bin at the back of the alleyway.
Hitome peered around the corner of the bin, and saw that the mob was slowly stalking down the alley towards her. She was so scared that she couldn't move, she was frozen in fear of taking another beating from the abusive villagers who were slowly, but surely inching closer and closer to her hiding spot.

THUD!

Hitome opened her eyes, as a shinobi with long black hair, and pale white skin landed in front of her with a thud. Facing the mob, Hitome looked to see the mob of villagers, with their eyes wide, shaking in fear of the lone shinobi standing before them. "O-Orochimaru!" one of the villagers shouted before being silenced by a snake that came out of the shinobi, now known as, Orochimaru's sleeve, biting the man in the neck; injecting venom into his bloodstream, killing him. Blood gushed out of the man's neck as he coughed up blood, before his lifeless body fell to the ground with a thud.

After the man's body fell, the mob of villagers could only look on in horror as Orochimaru lunged into the mob and started massacaring the rest of them. Hitome was terrified now, she knew that if she didn't get out of there quick, she would be killed as well. She masked her chakra, and started crawling over the back wall of the alley. She rolled over the top of the wall and landed on the ground on the other side with a low thud.

Orochimaru was so obsessed with killing the mob, his lust for blood seemingly overpowering him, that he never noticed Hitome had left the alley until he heard the sound of a low thud on the other side of the wall.
"I love it when they try to run, I am the predator hunting his prey! Ahahahahaha!" cackled Orochimaru in his sadistic, snake-like voice. Just to be sporting, and maybe to show off his speed a bit, he waited until Hitome was a good distance away before giving chase at lightning-fast speeds.

<With Naruto, Karin, and Jiraiya>

Naruto and Jiraiya were tree-hopping through the forest, with Karin still on Naruto's back.

*FLASHBACK*
The trio were almost at the entrance of the secret base, when Karin sensed ten Chunin-level Oto-nin, and decided to warn Naruto. Karin moved her head to where it would be positioned next to Naruto's ear, and in a hushed yell, told him to stop. Hearing the urgency in her voice, Naruto complied, making Jiraiya come to a stop as well. Jiraiya then looked at Naruto with a confused expression on his face and asked,"Hey kid, why'd we stop? Don't you know that we've got a whole base full of enemy shinobi on our butts?!"

"And whose fault is that, Pervy-Sage?"

The old pervert looked down in defeat, he knew Naruto was right.
'Why can't I ever catch a break?' thought Jiraiya with an irritated sigh.
Then, with a victorious grin on his face, looking up at Karin, Naruto asked, "Yes, why did we stop Karin-chan?"

Karin looked down at him, and blushed at being called 'Karin-chan' by Naruto. She then cleared her throat and said, "I can sense at least ten chunin-level shinobi ahead."

This was the first time Jiraiya had even noticed the girl on Naruto's back, and asked, "Hey Naruto, who's the girl?"

"Oh! She found me while I was in some room full of weapons. Her name is Karin, and guess what else; she's an Uzumaki, just like me!"

Jiraiya's eyes widened slightly, as he just stood there, staring at the red-head on his apprentice's shoulders, with his mouth agape, while he looked her up and down.

'Hmm, red hair, fiery attitude; yep, she's an Uzumaki alright. Also, not too bad, you scored a nice one, kid!' he thought, with a somewhat skeptical face which later was twisted into a lecherous grin.

Jiraiya then paled as he remembered another red-headed Uzumaki by the name of Kushina, beating him to a pulp and tying him to a post, while taking his perverted books and throwing them into a fire, as he cried anime tears, saying things along the lines of, "Sacrilege!" Which later turned into words like, "Nooo, they were so young!" and "Noo, I was just about to finish writing that one!"

He then came back to reality, just in time too, as the next thing he saw was Karin's fist flying straight for his face. "Eww, pervert! Don't stare at me like that! Gross!" said Karin, with a disgusted tone in her voice.
"Really? Now is not the time to drool over girls, Pervy-Sage." said Naruto, in a mocking, slightly irritated tone in his voice.

"Yeah, you're right." Jiraiya said, while rubbing the back of his head nervously.

"Oh, so I'm not pretty enough to drool over, am I?!" said Karin with a threatening tone in her voice, as she gripped the collar of Naruto's jumpsuit, lifting him up off the ground.
"No, no, I never said anything like that, of course your pretty, Karin-chan." Naruto said with fear in his voice.
Karin just crossed her arms and turned away from him with a huff and a slight blush on her cheeks.
After that issue was solved, Karin spoke up, "So, can we get back to the problem at hand?"

"Oh, right. Sorry Karin-chan." said Naruto in an apologetic tone.

Karin blushed at the suffix '-chan' added to her name once again, this time, however, Jiraiya noticed the blush, as well as the suffix '-chan' added to the end of her name. Jiraiya donned a mischievous grin, and said, "Well, looks like my earlier assumption was correct, it seems that you DID pick up a nice one, Naruto." Naruto and Karin didn't understand at first, but then caught on to Jiraiya's meaning. Both Uzumaki blushing furiously, looking anywhere but each other. After their brief silence they both turned on Jiraiya, and punched the sannin in the face. After that, Naruto looked at Jiraiya with an 'are you kidding me!?' look on his face and said, "WHAT! No way, we're both Uzumakis!"

"Yes, that's true, however, you're not related by blood, only by name, so it could happen." Jiraiya said with a lecherous grin spread across his face.

"Also, you may be the only two from the Uzumaki clan who survived the Whirlpool Incident, so you'll need to revive your clan at some point, Naruto." Jiraiya, of course, knew that his statement about them being the lone survivors of the Uzumaki clan was false. Due to the connections he had with his spy network, he had found pockets of survivors across the five great nations. Jiraiya had only said this to get possible inspiration for one of his books.

"Never mind all of that useless crap, we've got to get outta here!" said Naruto.
"He's right, we do need to get out of here." said Karin, with a bit of urgency in her voice.
"OK, fine. Lets go." pouted Jiraiya.

When the trio reached the entrance, Jiraiya told Naruto and Karin there was no need to fight their way out, instead opting to use stealth. Jiraiya activated his invisibility jutsu over all three of them as they made their way out of the hideout. They hid in some bushes and made their way away from the hideout.
