"Wanna dance?" Isabel had a smirk plastered on her lips, challenging me. I'm not one to run away from challenges.
"Sure, lead the way."
Boy, cheerleaders really know how to move. As soon as we reached the makeshift dance floor, she pulled my arms around her waist, wrapping hers around my neck. I felt her hips sway sensually to "Buttons" by Pussycat dolls, her smirk never fading and I mimicked her, my heart beating erratically in my chest and my head a little dizzy from the alcohol.
"Thanks for what you did today, by the way. I don't want to think about what would've happened if you wouldn't have showed up." The warm breath hit my ear, making me more aware of our current position.
"It's alright, he had it coming. Just be more careful with your future choices." I saw Cami dancing with Aiden a few feet away, both looking pretty drunk.
"My choices, you say. Perhaps I should change them indeed." She was clearly teasing me, but as hot as she was, I didn't have time for any romantic involvement.
I went to grab Aiden by the back of his collar as soon as the song ended, catching him off guard and stumbling a little.
"C'mon you two, we have school tomorrow. You'll thank me in the morning." I looked behind me to try and spot Isabel, but she was already looking at me from the bottom of the stairs. I waved her goodbye and took a hold of Cami's arms to prevent her from falling. Aiden could work some bruises.
Managing to get them both in the back of my car, I took off towards my house, cutting the usual time in half given the empty streets. Once parked in my driveway, I woke Aiden up to help me carry Camelia inside, struggling to climb up the stairs, both of them going in the guest rooms as soon as we reached the top floor.
I slept the moment my head hit the pillow, for the first time too tired to think of anything.
~~~~~~~
God, why didn't I think of closed curtains? And who goes to a party on Mondays anyway? We were a hopeless case. Putting my alarm on hold, I decided to go freshen up somehow. I didn't drink much last night thankfully, so my head didn't hurt, but the lack of sleep was visible on my face.
Splashing cold water on my face and taking a shower, I was half awake by the time I got to my closet. Quickly putting on some black jeans and a hoodie, I went down the hall to wake up my lazy ass friends.
Surprisingly enough, Cami was wide awake, applying make-up on her tired face.
"Had fun last night?" She threw a glare in my direction, careful not to ruin her straight line and I went on to Aiden's room. He was out cold in the middle of the bed, snoring loudly and totally ignoring the sun blaring trough the windows. Pig.
"Yes, Mara, Aiden is in here, drunk off his ass." I yelled down the hall and he quickly opened his eyes, wide with fear that his mother is actually here. I burst out laughing at his face, now sporting a deathly glare.
"Haha, not funny Ali. I was gonna have a heart attack soon enough." He lazily sat up on the bed, looking around for some of his clothes from past occurrences like this.
I left him to his stuff, choosing to check my phone for any messages. I had one from my mom, telling me she visited Ethan yesterday before going on a business trip to London and that there were no changes. Great, exactly what I wanted to hear. My parents going away meant I was in charge of the things here, along with the company. Just awesome.
I chose not to relive that pain again by visiting Ethan, not being able to see my bubbly brother redeemed to a cold, unmoving body. I checked on his progress daily though, with the help of General's men and Dr. Adams.
The second message was from an unknown number, telling me I was on for Saturday. Now that was good news.
"Who's slacking now, dumbo?" His blonde hair was the only thing I saw, hearing footsteps going down the stairs. Jerk.
Going to homeroom after what happened yesterday, I felt some tension in the back of my head. I hope Miss Cain won't adress that.
"Hey it'll be fine, don't worry about it." Aiden nudged me, probably sensing my distress. I was thankful for his distraction, because Miss Cain was absolutely gorgeous today. The blue dress did justice to those mesmerizing eyes and bracing her curves in all the right places. No wonder she gets hit on so much.
"Good morning Miss Cain." Came the usual greeting from Aiden.
"Morning you two. I see the principal was a kind man once again, isn't that so?" Her penetrating gaze was unwavering.
"Or he may have seen who was actually at fault, and decided to be a fair man. Who knows." She might've been good looking, but that didn't deter me from ignoring her.
I went past her, much like last time and took my seat at the back. It went on pretty quickly, choosing to scribble on my notebook the whole time. When the bell rang I gathered my things, ready to get out of this tiny box.
"Aliyah" Well, there goes my plan.
I nodded my head at Aiden to go ahead and I took an empty seat at the front.
"Is there anything I could help you with, Miss?" She closed the door, leaning on her desk, showing off those impossibly long legs.
"What happened yesterday? I haven't seen Brad in class so I assumed he was sent home, but now you show up." She was obviously curious. I chose to cut it short, not wanting to be late for History.
"Isabel explained to the principal how Brad was sexually harassing her, and that I simply got him off her. Things escalated and he ended up with a few broken ribs. He got suspended for what he did to Isabel, I got detention."
Shit, I almost forgot about detention on Saturday.She nodded, seemingly soaking the new information I gave her. Satisfied with my answer, we locked eyes for what seemed like hours, easily getting lost in the rich blue. The late bell rang loudly, startling us both and I hurriedly went to class after excusing myself.
Getting a call from my dad's secretary, I had to go after lunch to check on the company. The same company my brother was supposed to rule and that was now on my shoulders. I parked my car and took off towards the entrance, making sure I have the card my dad gave me to pass the security. Once done with the tiring procedure, I took the elevator to the last floor.
"Good afternoon, Miss Constantine. There's a girl here that claims to be your brother's girlfriend."
