Aaron's POV
That stuff Ein said has kept me tensed for the past three weeks. If anything were to ever happen to Aph, I don't know what I would do with myself. Every night I would check on her to see if she's okay, so far she seems alright, I mean, it's like she's getting prettier by the day. I know it sounds like spying but...Okay that is spying but I have my reasons, and they're positive.
I still don't know about that second date. What am I supposed to do? Another picnic? I'll have to pick something, before she thinks I forgot.
Aphmau's POV:
Jesus Christ, it's been three weeks since I've seen werewolf, and Aaron. I don't know where any of them are. Werewolf, or the one who has no name, can only be dead or alive. Who knows if f guards found them, or maybe the villagers did something awful with him. And Aaron, he unfortunately might have moved on. Or just completely forgot about me. Maybe that love I had for him is a complete lie, and I'm just meant to be alone. That was, until I got this letter.
"Aphmau, I'm sorry this took so long, but I wanted to see if you were free this weekend...Will you go out on another date with me? I know it's blunt but, things have been so busy and I haven't had a chance to see that face of yours. It's been too long. I need to see you."
~Aaron
For some reason, I was mildly upset when I read that letter. Who does he think he is? You don't talk to me for three weeks and all of a sudden now you do? Including, the stupid werewolf! He doesn't give me his damn name and here I am frolicking around with him because he said a couple of sweet words to me...Whatever! I'll just see Aaron. I'll admit it is somehow weird that werewolf only shows up a couple of days after Aaron, it's probably a coincidence.
A few hours later...
As I spritz perfume across my neck I read the letter over and over again. "I miss you" I read and roll my eyes, "Yeah if you missed me so much then why didn't you come to see me." I throw on a dark green dress with a black laced fabric running down the middle of the deep V-neck as the short off the shoulder ruffled sleeves show more than what I should be showing. I pull my long black curls into a half ponytail and run out the door. I suspect Aaron would be somewhere in the town square and to my surprise he is, leaned up against a post talking to some girl, did I say girl? As in singular? Oh no, it's plural.
He quickly glanced in my direction and finally stared at me. "Excuse me." He shuffled past them and squeezed through the crowd. He gave me a weird smile as I rolled my eyes, and walked away. "Wait-it's not what you think."
"Looked like you were having fun." I walked faster.
"They were asking me for directions, it was nothing more."
"I mean who cares anyways? You don't talk to me for three weeks, we had one date. It's not like I'm-" don't say it you are in love with him, you're just mad right now, everyone's been leaving you. "Never mind."
"Please, tell me what's wrong."
"What's wrong is that you were talking to a bunch of bimbos who probably wanted directions to your bulge!" I blurted out.
"When did you become so indecent?" Aaron snarled back.
"When did you become such a player?" Aaron stared at me, and my god has he never looked hotter.
"You know what, I don't see you for three weeks and this is what I get?" And somehow he broke his looks with ignorance.
"Oh gee, I wish I could just waltz on over to a castle! Like they would let me in!"
"What the hell is wrong with you?"
"You say you miss me, but here you are surrounded by a bunch of woman! Go ask them to go on a date, I'm done with being left alone for days!" At this point everyone was staring at us, the noise has stopped. I could imagine the papers now, prince in line Aaron Lycan had an argument with maiden earlier today, meanwhile he tries to cover up his affairs. I storm away from him as quickly as possible, I could feel his stare strengthen as I walked further away. This is all my fault, maybe they were asking for directions. Being in this cabin all alone is killing me.
Later on...
It's night. The most loneliest time. Everything and everyone is quiet as the only thing heard are the crickets, and rustle of the fire I made. I laid down next to it, staring at its orange and red flames. Rain starts to drip onto the windows as a thunderstorm roars. I glare at the empty jar of jam I took on Aaron and I's first date. Guess seeing him is over with. He was so dreamy too. I could see his muscles push through his black shirts, and the intoxicating smell of his cologne. How his hair was always so smooth, and his face...He's probably not even thinking about me right now.
Aaron's POV
I tried to stop the lump in my throat from slipping. Because then I knew I would cry, right at the dinner table. My family sat around and ate as I suffered in silence. I moved around the food as I clenched onto my hair. My whole family came over for dinner, they laughed, smiled, played games. As I just sat there, holding back the tears. I wanted to die. Aphmau didn't want me anymore, I was too late, I'm always too late. I needed a room, anywhere. As I pushed myself up from the chair everyone stared, I tossed my napkin as I rubbed my red, puffy eyes. I ducked into the kitchen as I slid down the cold stone wall, my mouth filled with saliva as I tried to close my eyes to make this go away. "Look at that, a grown man crying over something that's already gone." Melissa chuckled slightly.
"She was my future." My voice hoarse.
"Well If she was your future, why did you let her go?"
"She just seemed so irritated with me, all of this happened so quickly."
"Jesus," Melissa snarled, "go, I won't tell dad. I already know that you know where her house is, just go."
"What?" I stammered.
"Before I change my mind." I quickly got up and headed towards the door.
"Thank you Melissa, I really mean it." I smiled like an idiot. This is my final chance to apologize, it's already late enough I can't get there any later.
When I got to her cabin I saw her through the window, laying on the ground by the fire, the light illuminated on her skin. I knocked once, then twice, and she finally stood up. Opening the door to see me drenched from the rain. "What." She simply said. She never looked better. Her black hair fluffy and wavy, as the nightgown outlined her curves, how her eyes shimmered, like she was crying. "Aphmau if I had to give you all the apology's in the world I would. I am sorry you thought of me like that, I'm sorry for ignoring you, I'm sorry just please, I can't go on another day without seeing your face." Aphmau crossed her arms.
"I need time to think." She began to close the door before my hand interfered.
"Wait! Those girls meant nothing to me! They were just asking for directions. If you knew how old they actually were you would understand I wasn't trying to hit on them."
"Move you hand out of the way before I crush it." I slowly removed my hand as Aphmau violently slammed the door. I can't be alone, I can't.
