REAL LIFE
tomika sighed rolling her eyes as another knock could be heard from her balcony door. there was only one person who would climb up the tree in her backyard to her balcony just to get her attention. after freddy had finished his last voicemail he immediately got in his car and made his way over to tomikas house. upon ringing her doorbell multiple times and realizing that he wasn't going to get a reply, he resorted to climbing the old tree in her backyard up to her balcony like he used to do when they were younger. the lavender curtains she had hanging up were drawn so he couldn't see into her room but, he knew she was there.
"come on tomika talk to me please" he sighed resting his head against the door as he waited for a response realizing knocking was getting him nowhere. tomika, who had been laying on her bed staring at the ceiling, sat up at the hurt in his voice hit her hears. she felt a pang in her chest for causing the green eyed boy pain but, she realized, he had caused her pain first and the sadness she once felt turned to anger.
after a few minutes with no response freddy grew frustrated with the short brunette. "i'm not leaving until you talk to me" he stated a hint of annoyance became evident in his voice. he sat down resting his back on the door, he wasn't kidding when he said he wouldn't leave. the anger she felt grew at the annoyance in his voice, he had no right to be annoyed with her she told her self. getting up from her bed she went over to her balcony door yanking it open in anger.
"why can't you just leave me alone?" she asked hatred dripping from her words like venom. she glared at the boy who was now laid out on the ground from her unexpectedly opening door. he quickly got to his feet rubbing the back of his head.
"i can't leave you alone because you're my best friend and i wanna fix whatever i did" he hesitantly took a step closer to her. "whatever freddy. just go back to your girlfriend and leave me alone." she sighed turning to leave but he caught her wrist which she immediately pulled away as if his touch had burned her. a frown found its way onto his lips as she glared up at him.
"girlfriend? what girlfriend?" he asked once he realized what she had said a few seconds ago. Confusion adorned his features as she looked at the brown eyed girl who stood in front of him.
she rolled her eyes as she responded. "you don't have to play dumb, i know you and ryan are together. i saw you last week with her at your house."
"i honestly don't know what you're ta- oh" he realized she was talking about the night ryan broke into his house and tried to get with him. "you have it all wrong tomika there's noth-"
"just stop!" she cut him off her voice rising slightly. she was growing tired of this and just wanted him to leave already. "it doesn't even matter anymore because i was stupid to think maybe you actually could've liked a girl like me when you can have someone like her" she laughed sarcastically as a single tear rolled down her face. he stared, shocked as he realized he she had just confessed to having feelings for him but before he could tell her that she was wrong and he did like her back she began to speak again.
"and you know what really sucks about falling for a guy you know you're not right for?" she looked into his hurt eyes as he looked back at her tired ones. "you fall anyway because you think he might turn out to be different." she says before turning away for the second time that night to leave. but again freddy grabbed her arm trying to get her to listen to what he had to say.
"tomika wait" he tried to turn her around but she simply yanked her arm out of his grip walking into her room.
"goodbye freddy" she slammed the door letting herself slide down to the floor as she pulled her knees up to her chest willing herself not to cry. she was strong, she told her self, and had shed to many tears over him already. she wouldn't let him cause her anymore pain.
freddy let the tears that had built up stream down his face. knowing she wouldn't talk to him anyone tonight, he climbed down the old tree and got into his car. he speed down the road, not caring about how reckless he was being, and made his way home. once he arrived he quickly made his way into his house and went to his room slamming the door behind him, not even stopping to talk to his parents who worriedly asked him what was wrong upon seeing the dried up tears on his face. letting out a frustrated scream freddy punched the wall near his bed. pain radiated through his hand but he didn't care. he deserved it he told himself, after all the pain he had caused tomika he deserved it.
he heard his parents burst through the door and his mom scream at the sight of his bruised hand. she quickly pulled him downstairs and into the kitchen where she immediately applied ice to his throbbing hand. his parents began to ask him what felt like a million questions but he didn't respond to any. when they realized they weren't going to get a reply, his parents left him in the kitchen going back
to whatever they had been doing before he came home. as he sat icing his hand, freddy began to construct a plan to get the girl he was in love with back in his life.
