Jack woke up in an unfamiliar room, colored in pure white curtains and saw his parents talking to each other at a corner.

"What, what happened?" Jack asked in a raspy voice. "Honey, you. You passed out again," his mother replied in a calm tone. "Passed out?! Again? But... It's like the fifth time it happened this month!" Jack tried to force himself to sit on his bed. "Jack, son. Don't move around so much. We know that this is new to you but... You'll eventually get used to it. Besides, this'll only occur during your newborn phase and-" Jack's dad was cut off by his sudden raise of tone. "Stop! Mom, dad I know! So you don't need to remind me, Ok?! Just... Leave me alone... I... I need some peace and quiet. Please, go!" Jack exclaimed. "Alright sweetie, call us if you need anything," Jane looked worried at Jack. "Well then... We'll be going for now. Have a good rest... Oh and, you're currently inside our bedroom. I just wanted to tell you," Mike reminded Jack before leaving the room with Jane.

His parents left the room, both still worried about the situation Jack's in.

•In the living room•

"Dear, don't you think its time for us to move somewhere a little more private?" Mike stared at his wife with great caution. "Mike, what are you saying? Isn't this place secluded enough?" Jane brought out an upset tone. "It's not that, it's just that, the longer we stay here the harder it is for Jack to focus on his transformation," Mike looks straight at Jane. "But, all of Jack's friends are here. He grew up in this place. I'm not sure if moving will do him any good. In fact, it might cause greater damage to his emotional capability," Jack's mother started to grow weary and her eyes starts to fill with tears. "Dear, don't cry. Calm down, it's not final yet. If you think moving will not be effective for our son, we'll think of other ways to get him to accept the fact that he's not a normal boy. Just, don't cry, ok?" Mike caressed Jane's face to wipe her tears and then pulled her in for a warm hug.

•In the master's bedroom•

Jack's body was motionless, only his mind was filled with different thoughts, then suddenly he lets out a sigh. "Why? Why do I have to go through this? I didn't ask for any of this. I just wanted a normal life. I know that it was destiny that gave me this kind of life, but still, can't I find a way to escape this?" Jack whispers to himself while gently brushing his hair with his right hand. "I'm so confused. I'm still not ready for this, and I feel like I could burst out any second. But, the thought of a certain someone helps me get a hold of my self. Claire, it's her who keeps me sane. She's my happy pill, everytime I'm at my lowest point, it's her I think about. Claire, Claire, Claire... What have you done to me?" Jack then again lets out a sigh and then covers himself with the silky covers of his parents' bedroom.

A few hours passes by and Jack's mother came knocking at the door of their room to check on Jack. Jane knocks softly and says, "Jack, sweetie. Are you awake? Mum's coming in, it's time to take your medicine," Jane then slowly opens the door and walks inside the room only to see Jack still on the bed staring outside the window. "Jack, come here sweetie, you need to drink this," Jane hands out a glass that seems to be filled with a vibrant red liquid. "I'm not going to drink that," Jack refuses to get up and kept looking outside the window. "Jack come on. You need to drink this to be healthy. Look, sweetheart I know you're still upset at me and your dad but do know that we're doing this for you also. Besides you do know that you were destined to be a vampire ever since, right?" Jane sat beside Jack and tried to reason with him calmly. Jack didn't say anything, instead, he reached out his arm and grabbed the blanket to cover him entirely. Jane was shocked and thought, this is not going to work. I need to think of something that can bring his spirits up. Ah! Not something! Someone! I know what to do now! Jane took out a grey colored phone from her pocket and said, "oh my! Is this for real? Claire is coming here for dinner? Well then, I have to prepare a feast for our guest tonight. But, someone who's sick simply can't join us, am I right?" Jane then glanced at her son who is trying to hold back himself and kept hiding under the blanket. "I suppose I have to go now, or else I won't have enough time to prepare the food," Jane kept going to make sure that her son gets up and takes his medicine. Fortunately, Jack couldn't hold himself anymore and springs out of the covers and then quickly snatches away the glass from Jane and drinks it as fast as the speed of light. "Well look who decided to take his meds," Jane pinched the cheek of his son, teasing him. "Mum~ Stop it! I-I did it for Claire, ok?" Jack scratched the side of his neck and tried to hide his tomato-red face. "Hoho, my son's really grown up, he's having crushes now," Jane let's out a giggle that startles Jack. "Mum! Stop please~" Jack pouts and crosses his arms around him. "Hahaha, ok ok. Mommy's going to stop teasing you now, be good, ok?" Jane rubs the top of her son's head and then turned around to leave. "Mum wait!" Jack shouts to stop his mother from leaving. "Yes sweetie?" Jane turns to face her son. "Is-is Claire really coming tonight?" Jack shyly asked his mother. "If you want to, I can ask Nicolas to come and get her for dinner," Jane said and then smiled at her son. "Ehmm... Can you please do so mum?" Jack covers his face to hide the blush drawn across his cheeks. "Alright, anything for my little baby," Jane then winks at Jack and leaves the room.
