And andito kami sa 3rd Period Class namen. We're now in 2nd year high school. Same as Glutha, Angel and Carly. Magkaklase kaming tatlo and English is the subject we're taking right now. At dahil English nga, we are required to speak English. Actually February 10, 2013 na and lapit na kaming mag 3rd year high school.

Nilibot ko ang paningin ko sa loob ng room. At yun, nakita ko si Olei Krem na natutulog. Lagot na naman siya neto. Si Olei isa siya sa B-Club. Chubby siya na maganda pero isip bata. Sinubukan ko siyang gisingin pero huli na ang lahat.

"MS. KREM!"

Nagulat si Olei at nahulog siya sa kanyang upuan with matching untog sa desk niya.

"Po?" Sagot niya.

"What is Gerund?"  Sabi ni Sir.

Nag smile si Olei at sumagot.

"Yun pong may ing sa isang action word at dapat p---"

"SAY IT IN ENGLISH!"

"Um... Ano po um... Sir di ba pwedeng tagalog na lang? Opo alam kong English tayo ngayon pero dapat po nating tangkilikin ang ating salita. Sabi nga ni Jose Rizal: 'Ang hindi marunong magmahal ng sariling wika ay higit pa ang amoy sa mabahong isda' So kaya pala nangangalingasaw dito sa room. Amoy paa. So meaning po sir ikaw yun?"

Nagtawanan ang lahat pero natahimik kami nang binato ako ng eraser ni Sir at saktong pumasok sa bibig ko. Nagtawanan ulit sila.

"QUIET! At namilosopo kapa! At kung makatawa kayo wagas. Lalo ka na Mr. Makaiput! Ngayon tell me. What is Gerund?!"

Tumayo ako na nanginginig. Binuka ko bibig ko para magsalita nang may nakita akong dumaan sa labas ng room namin.

Nililipad pa ng hangin ang kanyang buhok. Sinuklay niya ito ng kanyang kamay. Tumingin siya sa room namin at pati ako. Nakita ko siyang ngumiti. Hindi ko siya crush pero.. Bakit prang nasa langit ako? Ang gaan ng pakiramdam ko. Ang gwapo niya. Super gwapo tlga. Naganahan tuloy ako sa pagsagot.

"Gerund - this looks exactly the same as a present participle, and for this reason it is now common to call both forms 'the -ing form'. However it is useful to understand the difference between the two. The gerund always has the same function as a noun although it looks like a verb, so it can be used:

a. as the subject of the sentence:

Eating people is wrong.

Hunting tigers is dangerous.

Flying makes me nervous.

b. as the complement of the verb 'to be':

One of his duties is attending meetings.

The hardest thing about learning English is understanding the gerund.

One of life's pleasures is having breakfast in bed.

c. after prepositions. The gerund must be used when a verb comes after a preposition:

Can you sneeze without opening your mouth?

She is good at painting.

They're keen on windsurfing.

She avoided him by walking on the opposite side of the road.

We arrived in Madrid after driving all night.

My father decided against postponing his trip to Hungary.
