The hope drained out of the boy as he was dragged in front of the triangular demon's throne, knowing that whatever punishment given to him by the overlord would be made specifically to cause him pain and suffering. The pyramid Bill has made his base in was cold to the boy, as if it was late fall, a harsh breeze hitting his skin, yet not moving his physical features at all. He looks around, nothing how nobody else seemed to feel it.
He had known, the second he handed the key over to Wendy, that he wouldn't be able to redeem himself. Not to Mabel, who he had pushed into hating him, not Bill, who he had betrayed, and not to himself. He knew he was a selfish coward, and that's why he had handed over the key to the red head. He wanted to prove to himself that he was capable of good.
What he expected to see when pulled to Bill's thrown was not what he was met with. He was expecting the throne, built from the stone bodies of his fellow townsfolk. He was expecting the demon to stare at him, a mix of disgust and amusement in his eye. He expected the demons surrounding them to look at him hungrily.
What he didn't expect to see, was the brunette sitting on the arm of the throne, dressed in clean clothes, his hair brushed, and his Pinetree hat sitting on his head over a pair of hatred filled eyes. His eyes, the same brown as his twin sister's, the same color that made Gideon's heart melt, even to this day, were shining with anger, and a sense of self righteousness.
Gideon was not expecting to see Dipper Pines looking so comfortable while sitting upon a throne built from those he once loved.
Gideon was not expecting the terrifying grin on the other human's face, nor was he expecting that Dipper would be the one to greet him.
"Gideon Gleeful. You have been found guilty of treason, acting against Lord and Master of all, Bill Cipher. Any last words before I deliver your punishment?" Dipper spoke before Gideon could react to seeing him, and as Dipper speaks, Gideon starts to realize something.
He was never nice to Dipper.
Dipper has no reason to spare his life, especially in a world where laws no longer exist.
Dipper was going to let him die, without ever seeing his Mabel again.
Gideon gulped, trying not to let the panic reach his eyes as he stares up at the two on the throne. And finally, after a moment of gathering his thoughts, he opens his mouth to speak. Because maybe, with his last few moments alive, he can once again prove he can be anything but selfish.
"Look at yourself, Dipper Pines. You have joined the side of a demon who has no reason to let you live when he's done with you. Your sister is trapped in a prison made by the creature you give your loyalty to now. Instead of giving up, and allowing him to win, why don't you take a nice long look at yourself and ask what you'd do if Mabel were here. I gave away that key 'cause I believe y'all still have a chance to beat this and live normal lives. Me? I ain't got nothing to lose now. So go ahead and kill me, but I don't regret what I did."
Gideon stares at Dipper, who stares back. He notes the conflict in Dipper's eyes, feeling hopeful for a brief moment. Maybe Dipper wont let him die. Maybe he'll just lock him up in a cage or something.
All that hope gets washed away with a single word, escaping the twin's lips as he stares down at the person in Gravity Falls who he has hates from the beginning.
"Okay."
With that small word, he launches himself off the throne, and drives the blade of a sharp knife into Gideon's throat, cutting off his oxygen and causing the child psychic to slowly drown in his own blood.
The last thought that went through his head as his vision goes dark was a pleasant one, and despite the blood slowly filling his lungs he dies with a smile on his face.
I love you, Mabel Pines.
•••••
Dipper stared down at the blood on his hands, shaking slightly as what he just did hits him. He just killed Gideon Gleeful. He just took the life of another human being. He had watches as Gideon choked slowly on his own blood, and he had smiled the whole time.
It didn't feel good. It disturbed him, knowing that the pale body on the ground was his doing. But a part of him, the part that drove him to join Bill in the first place, enjoyed what he did. He had enjoyed watching the fear in his eyes as he was dragged forward. He had enjoyed seeing the blood drain from his body, enjoyed seeing the life drain from his body.
He looks down at his hands, his whole body shaking.
Bill reaches for him, placing a hand on the boy's shoulder. He was worried that this had been too much for Pinetree, that maybe they should have started him with something smaller. He didn't want to break the boy yet, he still has use for him.
"Pinetr-" His words were interrupted when the human burst into laughter, staring down at his hands.
"I did it, Bill! I killed him! This is his blood- Gideon! Hahaha! Man, Grunkle Stan would be so proud of me if he could see this!"
If Bill had a mouth, he would be grinning at the progress of his human pet. "Yes it is. Good job, Pinetree."
The boy lights up at the praise, and looks up Bill with a happy smile. The other demons in the room looking at each other nervously. They were all thinking the same thing: If they want to stay alive, they better stay on the human's good side.
"What's next, Bill? Who's next?" Dipper asked enthusiastically, bouncing on the balls of his feet. His thoughts drift to the redhead who had broken his heart, the one heading to free his sister from the bubble she was trapped in, then to the grunkles who has betrayed him. Any of them would make the perfect next kill.
"Woah woah woah!" His thoughts were interrupted by Bill, who rested a hand on the boy's shoulder. "Slow down, Kid. You only have so many family members to kill off! Take a break, relax. The party is just getting started!"
Dipper nods at his words and climbs back onto his spot on the throne. "You're right, Bill. I think it'll be more fun to wait. Teeth, Eight Ball, wanna have what's left of Gideon for a snack?"
The two demons look at each other before nodding and digging in, tearing the dead boy apart, piece by piece, all while Dipper watched.
Dipper giggles happily, and taps the tip of his shoes together, humming a song under his breath.
Bill looks at the human and wonders to himself, just how far gone the boy was.
Perhaps he'll take a visit to Pinetree's mindscape later.
Or maybe he'll just keep watching to see how this plays out.
