The silence was almost scary, as the world around him was never quiet, not anymore. Just sitting up in the bed he shared with his demonic lover, despite the other insisting he doesn't need sleep, he could name at least ten sounds that were missing from the world around him.

The cries of people who couldn't follow all the rules, the sound of the blood rain that always fell off in the distance, the sound of footsteps in the fear-a-myd. It's as if everything stopped, turned back to those days long ago where everything was calm and quiet and... Normal.

Dipper slowly rose from the bed, looking around nervously and grabbing his ax before leaving the room, carefully walking as to not make many sounds. Something was suspicious about how empty the halls were, how quiet everything was. From the first day of the new world, there hasn't been a single peaceful moment, and yet there was peace now. It was... Amazing. And terrifying at the same time.

As he passed one of the windows in the hallway near his bedroom he has to pause and look out the window, dropping his axe to the ground. The sky, for the first time in a while, was a gorgeous pale blue, similar to those summer days that he silently longed for. The sun burned hot and bright in the sky, and a few clouds were visible from his window. The sky was beautiful, and Dipper had forgotten how much he loved the view. It reminded him of those long days when the power would go out, so he would go explore the forest with Mabel. It made him want to go grab her, so she could see it too.

A pair of arms wrap around him, and by instinct he leans into the familiar embrace. Bill's head rests on top of his own, and a soft sigh escape the demon.

"Do you like it, Pinetree? I was hoping you would."

Dipper can hear how nervous the demon was, but he didn't acknowledge it.

"Yeah. Did you do this, Bill?" He turns his head to look up at his demon as he talks, a small smile on his face.

"Of course. I knew you missed Gravity Falls, so I figured I'd make this town normal for you. Ya know, as a gift."

"Aw, Bill you're sweet. Can I-"

"Yeah, go grab your family. Just don't let them leave town."

"You're amazing."

"I know, Pinetree. Now go enjoy your stupid normal town with your family."

Dipper launches himself at the demon, giving him a loving kiss before running to where his Grunkles and sister were being kept. When he gets there and explains the situation, they enthusiastically agree to join him for a day in town. After all, they needed a break from the dark rooms that they have been kept in.

Dipper smiles as he holds his sister's hand, leading them from the fear-a-mid into the town below. A beautiful day, with a light breeze to keep them cool. White fluffy clouds lazily drifted above them, and the utter normalcy of the world around them was worrying.

But this is what they had waited for, this was the moment the family had planned for during their time locked away. So they need to take advantage of this. And with a knowing look, all three of the Pines turned to the fourth one. They need to give him this, this one last day. Then, they'll give him a choice.

As Dipper leads them around the town, taking them to all of the favorite spots, he talks about the latest news. How certain people have been released, which rebellions have been quelled, and who has died.

They all have a moment of silence for the friends they lost, then enjoy the food of their favorite diner. Lazy Susan had been released fairly early, as long as she keeps her diner going.

"So, Dipper, how is Bill doing?" Mabel asks her brother in between bites of food.

"Good! He's so sweet. And I know you guys don't like him, but I'm glad you're trying." He smiles lovingly at his family, who offer smiles back.

"You should give him the sweater I made for him. I think he would like it."

"I will! I'm sure it would look good. Everything you make looks good."

Mabel smiles happily at her brother, and the genuine compliments she was getting from him. It made her sad, just a little, to think that this would be ending soon.

At the end of the day, as Dipper used the bathroom, the three of them snuck off. At the end of the day, they all knew that Dipper wouldn't join them. They knew that after all his time with Bill, that they wouldn't win if they made him chose. So they left, taking any supplies they could and running into the forest.

At that moment, when Dipper saw they had left, his vision turned red with anger. Then black as he loses consciousness and collapses onto the cold floor underneath him.

"Oh Pinetree... I told you not to let them out."

Bill's voice was the last thing the human heard before a sharp pain hit his arm, making him scream out in pain. Then, as fire spread through his blood, he found that he could no longer move.

In the forest, moving quickly away from Gravity Falls, all three of the Pines who has escaped felt a sense of uneasiness, with Mabel feeling it the most. A sense of loss, and ache in her chest. And if it wasn't for Ford grabbing her arm and gently pulling her along, she would have ran back to her brother.

"Mabel, come. We need to get as far away from Gravity Falls as possible."

"Yeah... I know, Grunkle Ford."
