 Marina's P.O.V.

Later

I lay with my head on her stomach, feeling every deep breath she took. I was in her t-shirt with the smell of her, on her bed, in her bedroom, next to her highway, in her universe. It was such a cliche, but I never felt more at home.

"What even happened to us seven years ago," she asked to the ceiling, probably hoping I wouldn't answer. I wrapped her arms around me.

"You were dating Barrie," I rolled over and looked at her. Her eyebrows were lowered and sloped upwards towards each other, and she licked her lips and pouted a little,

"And you were dating Theo," She shot me a look.

"Well, that was different. See, I think I liked you."

She laughed, noises of the cars on the highway still audible.

"Just a little bit, " I felt my cheeks going red, "After meeting for the first time. When was that? July of 2011, right?"

"Probably," she knowingly smirked.

"We were at that one club here in L.A, The.. Something, I can't remember, but I was introduced to you by Elise as the British friend," I say, looking off to the nightstand.

"Yeah, that's right. And the first thing I said was, 'oh my god you're gorgeous', and you said-."

"Nice to meet you too, Lana," I say, mockingly. I had two too many vodka tonics, but as far as I remember, we hit it off quite well, didn't we?" I looked back at Lana, mistakenly forgetting how cute she was. Lana's face was painted with the curl of her luscious lips, her eyes sparkling. An actual angel.

"I really couldn't stop thinking about you," I continued with a smile. "I, I still can't." My heart started racing, and my mouth started running, "sometimes.. when I'm just sitting around watching television with Jack, I'll forget that I'm with him. I'll like, lay my head on his shoulder and until I hear his voice, I'm with you. I feel fucking awful for it." As I felt Lana's stomach lower, I knew I said too much, but I couldn't stop.

"Something always brings me back to you-,"I said.

"Then stay with me," Lana interrupted, "forever," "tell me, what's keeping you in London," she asked with a hint of a grimace, obviously somewhat reluctantly.

"Well, it's pretty obvious. My boyfriend and my family," I responded. I loved her so much, but did she really think I could easily let go of some of the most important things in my life to be with her? Surely I could still visit my family, but despite the fact that I had feelings for her, I still loved Jack. I don't know if I'd ever be ready to make her the center of my universe.

"Has Jack ever.. asked about me as-," Lana asked, out of the blue.

"Assuming you mean you as "someone to me", then no. He only knows you as a friend, but I dunno. He's aware of the "us enthusiasts," though. Remember the Jarina incident?" We laughed, and afterwards I moved over next to her.

For a while we lay there, spooning each other, and I turned around to face her. I wrapped my legs around her body. I couldn't stop gazing at her. I was at a loss for words. All I could do was stare in admiration and what was starting to seem like love. I tried to absorb all of her beauty with my eyes and all I wanted to do was hold her close and kiss her. Every time I get lost in her eyes, her pupils turn into black holes that pull me into her and pull my breaths deeper into my chest. I told Lana I loved her a few times, most of which were out of pure platonic feelings, but occasionally I'd let my lips run loose making it seem a little less like something out of sole friendship. There really wasn't another phrase that could encapsulate the way she made me feel. She was absolutely perfect.

"You're lovely," I whispered, looking up at her.

"Are you sure you're straight," she whispered into my ear, both of us bursting into a fit of giggles.

"Everything's okay when we're together. Perhaps you should stay a little longer. You make me happy," she said, stifling a smile and pulling me closer. I wrapped my arms around her and rested my head on the pillow next to hers.

"As much as I wish I could lie to you and say I can, I'm still going to have to leave tomorrow," I responded.

"What's your schedule looking like this week," Lana asked. That isn't the issue, though. I still have to see Jack, Mavis, Jupiter, et cetera. Life isn't so simple. I can't just walk away from my world to spend a week with Lana in L.A.. Yet, would it really hurt?

"Pretty empty," I said- impulsively. I'm not going to lie when I say I had a bit of regret agreeing to this. On one hand, it was a week with someone I really liked, and maybe that could clear a few things up for me. On the other hand, how would Jack feel about this?

Before I could make the decision, Lana grinned and said, "Great. How about France? We're flying private. We can eat pancakes and pick your luggage up from home tomorrow."

"As much as I want to go, do you really think it would be a good decision travel somewhere without any sort of plan-," I started.

"Trust me, I've had a plan for forever. It's stayed in the back of my mind in case the situation arises. Marina, I truly think now is the time. I mean, when else are you going to be this free? Certainly not when you're in the middle of mixing your album," she tried to reason with me.

"I'll sleep on it, okay? This seems kind of rushed."

"Alright, Marina," she said as I turned around and closed my eyes.

She tapped my shoulder and I turned around to give her a kiss, and tried to sleep again listening to the sound of the cars from the highway. On any other night, I would be awake with thousands of questions concerning this trip, but as Lana drew circles on my back and I watched the moonlight shine through the blinds, I drifted off with her on the back of my eyes.

A/N:  Sorry for the wait, and it's okay if you've decided to unstan! I promise the next chapter will come in less than a month lol. This one's a bit short in comparison.  I've just been really busy, but yeah.
