I've made you all wait long enough. Here's your new chapter. No May bashing please because I tried really hard to do this in a way for all to understand. Bash on all the others all you want of course. If you do want to question why I did it this way though feel free to pm me. I have my reasons.

Word Count: 1063Peter's POV
Tossing his bag in through the open window Peter prayed that his Aunt wasn't up. He was dead tired from his battle from earlier but he had work to do from the Daily Bungle and some homework to finish up. But before any of that he needed to unwind. What better way to do that then some of his Aunt's delicious cooking?Putting his phone on his charger he noticed he had 7 missed calls and 33 text messages. One call from Aunt May, three from Ned, one from the Daily Bugle, one from MJ-DELETE, and one from Stark Enterprises- HoLd Up! Stark Enterprises!
"Hello Mr. Parker this is Ms. Potts calling to inform you of your selection for our internship program. Please call back if you are interested. You are one out of eleven selected interns citywide. This is UNPAID status Mr. Stark wants me emphasize. Goodbye."
Peter fist-bumped the air. He had been aiming for that internship for months. He knew he could do it. Who cares if he didn't get paid? He had his stupid newspaper job. Not that he needed a job anyways. It isn't like he needed the money. He decided to read the texts later.
"Hey Aunt May!" Peter shouted out as he rushed into the kitchen.
"..." May have him no response and merely handed him a plate of food.
'Odd' Peter thought but decided to pay it no heed.
There could've been a million and one reasons as to why Aunt May was so quiet. Peter could handle it. He didn't have to worry over every single detail. She just had a bad day at work. Most likely.
"Remember that internship I applied for? You know, the one that had the SUPER low chance of getting into?"
"Mhm" May hummed while shuffling through a stack of papers Peter didn't recognize.
"I just got a call from them, I'm one of eleven selected interns to start working soon! I have to call back for more details soon though." Peter excitably rambled.
"Eat your food Peter." May sternly finalizes, ending their conversation.
'Must've been some bad day...' Peter thought while picking at his food, no longer hungry.
It was times like these where Peter struggled to remain naive. He would alway know what he knew, but that didn't mean that he couldn't deny them. His Aunt's behavior wasn't new. She acted like this from time to time. In fact, the Aunt May everyone seemed to love was the one Peter rarely got to see.
Peter's Spider senses were lightly buzzing but he pushed them back. He refused to see his aunt as a threat. No matter what she did. Not to mention he had alarms set in place for any other surprises. He could handle what was coming. It's probably just another discussion about him being Spider-Man or undermining her authority by having a job and trying to help pay rent.
May sighed and finally stopped shuffling papers, "Peter, I've been thinking about something important lately..."
"What's it about Aunt May?" Peter inquired, trying to mask his worry. She sounded worried herself.
"Your sixteen, have a steady paying job, a- rather poor hobby involving your hero complex but I'll leave that be, and you don't really need me that much. You never really needed me..." May breathlessly sputtered our, taking off her glasses and setting them aside.
"Of course I need you Aunt May, I-" Peter-
"Let me finish!" May roared, slamming her hand on the table.
All Peter could do was nod. He felt too helpless to do anything else. Where was Ness?! He felt an attack coming on...
"You never really needed anyone after... after you... I don't even know when it happened.." She said exasperated, "One day you were coming to me for everything, and I had to drop everything just to care for you. Ben and I BOTH had too. But ever since he's been gone it's gotten worse. And-and then you... you change! You get that job you hate! You pay MY late fees. You take care of ME!" She paused to breathe.
"That's supposed to be my job Peter. But what hurts even more is the fact that I can't tell you no because you not doing anything wrong! You're just trying to help out. Your just trying to help..." May fell silent.
"I...." Peter started but failed, "I could.. help less?"
"No... no you couldn't. It's practically in your DNA Peter." May jokes.
An uncomfortable silence falls between the two of them. Neither knows what to say and yet both of them wants anything to be said.
"Th-that's why.. why... Peter.. you have to understand. I- I feel so, so selfish. And, I feel like such a horrible person! But I want my own life! I-I want my independence back and... I j-just..."
"A-ant May?" Peter whispered.
"Do you know... on the day I married your uncle... I told him that I never wanted kids... I broke his heart on our happiest day..." May she's a tear, "I said that I wanted to live my own life and that they'd take too much from me. Peter, you're an angel, a godsend! But I don't like kids! I, I want you to be emancipated."
With those words Peter's heart had shattered. First MJ, and now his Aunt didn't want him... He always new that she never wanted kids. His uncle had told him. He would alway know what he knew, but that didn't mean that he couldn't deny them. But how could he deny this?
There wasn't any denying it...
"I'm almost done with the paperwork," she gestured towards the stack, "I suggest you start looking for a new place to live."
