Was it worth it?
Was it worth living another day without him?
What were the chances of them making up?
He was sure that they were slim.
But Josh was missed so much
Tyler felt his feelings overwhelming
But all he wanted was to be in his arms, the feeling was so very comforting.

They were no longer friends
Tyler felt hopeless
He had a feeling they would never make amends
What would he do without Josh by his side?
He was the only one who kept him alive.

But now he's alone again.
He just wanted to put a bullet through his brain.
But he'd be okay, because once Josh told him
"stay alive, one more day, if you do "I'm happy to be alive today" is something you will say".

It was the 27th of October. The day of the Halloween break which would last one week. Tyler was laying in bed as his alarm clock rang loudly at him. His mother walked into the room and let out a soft sigh, she crossed her arms and frowned a bit. "Tyler..Can you please go to school today?" his mother begged. He hadn't been to school for a full week,he was too nervous to see Josh, he had a feeling that when he saw him his heart would break all over again. Tyler then turned to his mom and frowned a bit "Please..don't make me go. I-I'm still sick I swear!" he insisted. His mother shook her head "Tyler, sweetie. It's the last day. Then you get a week off. Please just this one day. And if you feel sick in school you can ask to go home". It was silent for awhile before he eventually nodded "Fine..". His mom smiled "I knew you could do it,I'll be downstairs" she said before walking out of his room.
Tyler sat up and frowned. He just felt so empty and numb yet overwhelmed at the same time. He was constantly on the verge of screaming or crying. He eventually stood up and got dressed, wearing his usual black jeans and grey shirt with a red beanie. As he stood and looked at himself in the mirror he rubbed his eyes, they had bags under them from lack of sleep. As he stared at himself in the mirror he shook his head and sighed softly "What's the point?" he said quietly to himself before grabbing his school bag and walking downstairs. His siblings looked at him, they were just as worried about Tyler as his mom was. Zack looked at Tyler and tilted his head a bit "Erm,Tyler. I can give you a lift to school if you'd like" he offered as he took a bite of his cereal that he prepared himself for breakfast. Tyler nodded "Yeah please..I'd appreciate it.".
Zack nodded and continued to eat.
Tyler waited for his brother to finish eating so he could get a lift to school, the only reason Zack had a car and Tyler didn't was because Tyler wasn't capable of saving up money like Zack was. As soon as Zack finished his breakfast he stood up, put his bowl in the kitchen sink, and then grabbed his school bag. Him and Tyler headed out in his car.

As Zack drove Tyler looked out the window, he saw pupils walking to school, other cars of all kinds passing by, and his neighborhood. Zack glanced at Tyler as he drove "So Ty..Wanna tell me what's going on?" he asked as he looked back at the road. He looked down "me and my best friend had an argument.." He said answering his question. Zack raised an eyebrow "Oh?"
"And now he hates me. And it's my fault" he claimed dolefully. Zack remained silent for a few seconds before speaking up "L-Listen Ty, I understand how important Josh was to you. I know it's easier said then done but you should really talk to him. He's bound to forgive you, you're friendship was potent you know?". Tyler nodded in agreement "Y-Yeah you're right..I'll try speak to him"
The rest of the car ride was silent, as they arrived at the school Tyler stepped out of the car and thanked his brother. He then made his way up the steps and then to his locker. There was no sign of Josh,as nervous as Tyler was to see him he was also curious to where he was. He headed to his next class after getting his books.

It was finally lunch time,as Tyler made his way to the cafeteria he looked around for an empty table. Whilst looking around he spotted Josh, his heart sunk a bit but he knew what he had to do. He marched over to Josh and as soon as he arrived in front of him he gulped. "Josh?" he called out trying to gain his attention. Josh looked up,his face flushed and then he looked down as he took a sip from his water bottle. He stayed silent, he didn't do this to be rude or to hurt Tyler, that wasn't his intention at all, he just didn't know what to say. Tyler took a deep breath before speaking.
"Okay. If you aren't going to speak I will..Josh, all I wanted to do was help you. I understand that I may have been pushy but that's only because I want what's best for you." He rubbed the back of his neck "A-And you may hate me..But that's okay..Because I could never hate you no matter how much you hate me. I hope you can forgive me for being so..So..Ridiculously stupid. But I care for you more then I care for anyone else, and I can't lose you, you mean too much to me."
Josh looked up at Tyler, his dark brown eyes shining in the light of the cafeteria lamps. "I never hated you Tyler. I never will, you're my best friend.."
Tyler felt so relieved to hear that,he sat down in front of him then looked down "can you please tell me what happened?" He begged. Josh let out a small sigh then nodded before he began to explain. "Those people were making fun of me because they know why I transferred schools..They know something I wasn't planning on telling anyone..". Tyler raised an eyebrow, what could Josh be hiding that was so bad?? Before Tyler could ask Josh blurted it out.
"I'm gay."
Tyler's eyes slightly widened he didn't know what to really say, before he was able to speak Josh teared up and his lips trembled a bit "I-I'm s-sorry..It's weird now isn't it?? I shouldn't have told you- I shouldn't-" Josh could feel himself panicking. As Tyler noticed him panicking he quickly pulled Josh into a hug "Hey hey..This doesn't change anything I promise..You are still the same person you were before you told me Josh.."
Josh hugged him back tightly, he cried a bit and sighed "In my old school..They did terrible things to me..". Tyler looked at him "Care to elaborate?..", even though Tyler asked he was scared to know the answer.
Josh nodded as they pulled away from the hug. He frowned before speaking
"They did terrible things, I got called "faggot" or "fairy" or even "queer", every single day. And some of the dudes in my school thought of this brilliant catchphrase every time they'd beat me up called "smear the queer"...The worst thing they ever did was set me up..They set me up with this guy, he told me he was also gay and I became attracted to him..But it was a set up so when I told him he told everyone and he even made fun of me.."
As Josh revealed his past experiences it broke Tyler's heart into two. He couldn't believe they'd treat someone as amazing as Josh like that. Tyler then gave him a reassuring smile "I will never let that happen to you again. I promise." he declared. Josh then smiled "Thank you Tyler".
Tyler nodded "Anytime Josh".
They stared at each other for a moment, nothing was said , it was just silent. Tyler never noticed how nice Josh's eyes were, yes they were dark brown, but they also had specks of gold in them followed along with a leafy green. Tyler then looked down. Why was he analyzing Josh's eyes?? And what was that moment of silence? He was beyond confused. Josh then broke the silence "Hey..So do you maybe wanna come over to mine on Halloween?". Tyler nodded and grinned "Y-Yeah I'd love too!" he claimed enthusiastically. Josh then smiled "Great..Anyway,I better get going..See you later" Josh then left the lunch table and waved. Tyler watched him silently with a small smile on his face. He then sighed and made his way to his next class.

As he was in class he couldn't help but think but think of Josh, the small things he did, his warm smile, his strong and comforting arms, just everything. He sighed softly to himself and shook his head 'what the heck Tyler? Stop thinking about him!' he thought to himself. He was so confused. He then looked up at his teacher and tried to tune into class.
