Friends, hello again! I'd like to have a quick little chat before we proceed with the story. We're almost at the end, oh my. So exciting :D Usually I'd take a bit longer to post a chapter, but since I got some amazing feedback (mostly people being a little angry xD) including an angry string of texts from my best* friend, I decided to hurry up and write!
As it can be assumed, one day I hope to be a published author. I get many comments on the story itself, but not much feedback on how it's conveyed. So I'm asking you all, am I a decent writer?
Apart from that, this was a very interesting chapter to write, and I can't wait to finish :D Thankyou to all my readers, and I hope you enjoy.

FIVE MONTHS LATER
The espresso sat there cold and rejected, ripples occasionally creasing the surface when someone bumped the table. I rubbed my chin, eyes focusing on the coffee while I felt the rough texture of my beard.
"Hal," Jeremy snapped. I whipped my head up with faraway eyes.
"Hm?"
"Can you fucking sign this or what?" My boss, the head honcho Jeremy Blythe waved a pen around my face.
"Yeah, sorry." I scribbled my name and returned to my idle state.
"Hal, you have to stop." Trevor reached out to touch my shoulder, but was cut short when I shrugged. I could barely look at him, partly because of the shame I felt, and because I could tell he urged to say something, to reveal a small detail of his cousin but refused to let it slip. It was written all over his expression.
"So you fucked another chick and your girlfriend saw, big deal. Shit happens." Jeremy's insensitivity earned him a grimace from Trevor.
"I'm saying this as a friend, can you stop being a fuck-wit?" Trevor replied harshly.
"When he gets out of this state I will." The man with aging hair stood, tossed a hundred on the table and grabbed his briefcase. "You cunts talk to me when you're normal again."
"Hal." Again he refrained from speaking.
"I didn't think I had it in me to do it to her. I was sure no woman could sway me apart from her." I recalled when she chucked the rock through the window. It brought me out of my moment of madness. "It's her face Trevor, that's what's killing me the most. The way she stared at us, her expression was so blank. Then the pain cracked in her eyes." Stacey. I haven't seen her since then, only in my nightmares. "Fucking human foibles."
"I guess that's your flaw in character, sorry to say." One of the many curses of a womaniser.
"Can you just tell me how she is?" Please Trevor. He opened his mouth, then closed it and shook his head.
"I have to go back to the office."
"Can you take my briefcase? I'm going for a walk." Not like there's anything in there though.
"Sure, see you later." Like Jeremy, he put down a hundred and left the restaurant. I did the same and exited the bustling room, taking to the busy streets. I tried not to look for her, so I pushed my hands into my pockets and kept my eyes on the ground. People gave me nasty stares when I bumped into them.
"Move, dickhead!" Some guy nudged me to the right, forcing me straight into a marble wall with glass windows. It was a bookshop. The blow wouldn't be so hard if her name wasn't on a giant poster, surrounded by novels with a similar appearance. I walked into the shop, pushing through the mound of customers hovering near the section around the poster. 'The World Anew' the debut novel of acclaimed writer Stacey Harris. The copies were becoming scarce.
