Night Horrors

Darkness surrounded me.

Sirens in the distance

Getting closer.

Where am I?

I start feeling pain in my legs, arms, and chest.

I can't see anything.

The sirens are so loud now

I can't think.

My brain scrambles trying to put it together.

I hear voices.

A woman screams.

Or maybe that's me.

The pain is becoming unbearable.

I hear people farther away.

Hitting metal.

Must be in a car.

I start to looks around.

There.

I see.

You.

In the seat next to me.

Blood everywhere.

Your chest.

Unmoving,

Another scream.

This time I know it's me.

My alarm clock jolts me awake.

Tears streaming my face.
