Left

You said you'd always

Be there for me,

You left when I was ten.

You said you'd always

Be there for me,

You mentally checked out

At the same time.

You said you'd always

Be there for me, and yet

You're moving farther away.

You said you'd always

Be there for me,

You don't even ask me

About anything anymore.

I moved on without you,

I became stronger.

I found others to build

Myself back up.

Then one of them left too.

I say one wrong thing

And they're gone forever.

Why am I always

Being left?

What do I do wrong?

Why don't they stay?

I don't ask myself these questions.

I have others who

Love me no matter what.

I am who I am

Because they never

Ask me to change.
