My past made me a ruler

First half of a new school

September 4th

5:30 Am

Emerald woke up to the sound of Roaring 20's playing. She turned off her alarm and got ready for the day. She went for a shower before the rest of her family could wake up. Once she was done and back in her room she heard her mother getting up for work. Her mother worked in the city and took the train. She got her clothes ready and walked downstairs to help her mother with making breakfast. It was normal for her to do that now. It was now around 6:30 A whole hour after she had originally woke up. She heard movement from upstairs and knew it was her brother getting up. He always woke up before her sister. Her father got up next and was down the stairs before her brother got down. Her father sat down and she gave him a plate and a drink. Her father was wearing a business suit on. It was grey and he had a red tie. This was not new as it was his normal suit. Her brother came down and he was in the schools uniform. A blue blazer with a white button up long sleeve shirt underneath he also wore a red tie that was in the dress code. His pants were black dress pants and his shoes were black dress shoes. His hair was a bit messy and he got a plate of bacon and eggs and a glass of milk. He sat down at the table and started to eat. Her sister walked down. She was also wearing the school uniform just for girls. The top part was the same but the bottom she was wearing tights and a black skirt. Emerald left and got in uniform her skirt was dark green. She then raced down and got something to eat.

7:30 am

Emerald was walking to school as it was a short walk from the new home to the school. She looked around her as she walked. She saw little shops and markets as well as other homes she passed. They mostly had red to brown roofs and they were all made of red brick. Most of them had picket fences. She then got to the school and saw her brother and sister at the gate waiting to go in. They had left before her and in a car. Emerald wondered how long they had been standing there. She got to the gate and then she realized why they had been standing there. All the new kids had been lined up and depending their gender were given a punch to the gut or a slap across the face. Emerald rolled her eyes and walked into the schools front yard. This had made people look at her as she walked to the front doors. She couldn't believe that her older brother and twin sister were so chicken. 

"Hey, new girl you know we have a rule here," A boy with blond hair and green eyes yelled running after her, "If you're new you get punished" Emerald turned around to look at the boy. She saw the boy had a condescending smirk on his face. Emerald rolled her eyes and started walking to the schools building. "EMERALD YOU GET YOUR BUTT TO ME RIGHT NOW!" Everyone turned to look at where the voice was coming from and who it was coming from. Emerald just smirked as a girl with red hair and blue eyes stepped out and held her arms out. Emerald dropped her bag and turned around smiling at the girl who called her out. "RUBY" She yelled and ran to her best friend. She ran fast and didn't slow down. When she got close enough she jumped and crashed into Ruby sending both of them to the ground laughing and smiling. "You didn't tell me you were coming to this school," Ruby said getting up. "I didn't know what school I was going to," Emerald said getting up as well. "Next time you run and jump at me like that I won't catch you" That made Emerald laugh even more. "Yeah right. How many times have you said that and then caught me?" Emerald gave a smirked as Ruby pushed her a bit with a huff. They both just smiled at each other and walked to the school picking up their bags along the way. Everyone else didn't know what to do. 

8:10 am

Emerald got to her Homeroom. Classroom 1-A. She smiled and walked in seeing a bunch of students talking to each other. She didn't know anyone so she sat at the back and put her headphones on. The bell rang and everyone took their seats. The teacher showed up. "Goodmorning class. My name is Ms, Prince. Since today is just the first day of a new year I would like each of you to come to the front and say your name, your favourite colour and what you want to be when you are older". The teacher smiled. Ms, Prince had long blond hair that was in a tight and high ponytail, her skin was pale and she wore makeup that made her look a bit younger than her normal age. She wore a blazer just in a grey tone and a long pencil skirt that went past her knees. She wore brown heels that were not very high maybe an inch or two maybe less.
