Our favorite hot-headed ninja was spending his time with his girlfriend. Skylor, the master of amber and daughter of the evil Chen was seated across the fire ninja as they talked away into the night.
It was started to get late, having spent a lot of time together outside where they could be alone and in each other's presence. "And then I told him, back off!" Kai said, being really dramatic and exaggerating most parts of his story.
Skylor loved him nonetheless and giggled along occasionally, finding her boyfriends actions to be humorous and amusing. Kai crossed his arms and pouted at her reaction, puffing his chest out.
"What's so funny Sky? I'm serious, that actually happened!" He said, waving his arms around as Skylor laughed some more; putting a hand over her lips. "Right. You were definitely attacked by a rattlesnake that talked."
"Hey! Anything goes in Ninjago! This place is crazy." He rolled his eyes, sassy as always as Skylor nodded in agreement. "Alright, alright. Let's start heading back to the others then. It's getting late."
Kai shrugged and stood up from the table, reaching forward and taking Skylors hand in his own. They walked back along the sidewalk, talking quietly to each other and sharing the craziest of stories.
As they passed through a neighborhood on their path back home, they spotted a small cardboard box. It had the words "free baby" etched along the side of it in some sort of black marker.
Skylor looked over the others shoulder, looking toward the box as well as she hurriedly ran over to it. If there was in fact a baby still in there they wouldn't know if it would still be healthy in this kind of weather.
Kai knelt down and took the blanket parched over the top of the box, looking inside and surprised to see a little baby looking back at him. Your e/c eyes twinkled at the sight of somebody, before breaking out into tears.
They really couldn't blame it; you were outside in the cold for who knows how long and then suddenly two random strangers were looking down at you.
Skylor frantically scooped the baby up, trying to cradle you in her arms to try and calm down the crying. Kai stood up and laid the blanket over again, looking into the box to see if there was anything else left behind.
There was sadly no information on who had previously abandoned you; Kai frowning but feeling a bit enlightened at the same time as an idea popped up into his mind.
He knew deep down that him and Skylor weren't ready to have a baby yet; they weren't even married yet. Skylor looked at Kai, holding his hand tight in her own. "I'm sure she'll be okay, if that's what you're worried about. We'll find her a good home with us."
"Or.. she could stay with us." Kai suggested; liking the idea more and more as he thought about it in his head. Him and Skylor, in a house, with a little baby girl who needs a home.
"Wait are you sure? We should think this one through, this is a life that we're handling: are you even sure that we could take care of a baby together at this age?" Skylor loved the idea herself but didn't want to be irresponsible about something as important as this.
If they were to fail to be good parents, they would only be hurting the baby more after being abandoned. "Sky, I know that this is a good idea. I can feel it." He said, putting his hand onto her shoulder and giving her a confident look.
"I know we can do this. Besides, I've taken care of Master Wu has a child before; I'm sure this baby wouldn't be any harder."
Skylor smiled a bit, letting out a bit of a sigh but looking down at you once more and playing with your little hands in her own. "It does sound great.. but I just don't want to fail the baby. Kai, is a child really what we need right now?"
"Well.. that I don't know but I don't see why we wouldn't make great parents! You and I have the exact skill sets of what a parent would need to raise the perfect child."
Skylor gently wrapped the baby into a blanket,
