Addy was glad that Luke was there to help. She was typing and writing the reports and trying to get the research done diligently that she didn't realize it was 5.00 p.m. already. Her concentration was abrupt when Hayley and Antoinette pat gently on her shoulder;

"Darling, it's past office hours already. Aren't you going home?"

"Oh. Yeah. I lost track of time. Let me just finish this first"

"Okay, we'll be going first, hun"

They said as they walked out of the office. Addy cleared her desk and went to her car. On her way back home, she felt hungry so she stopped by at The Best Turkish Kebab located at Stoke Newington street. It is a long-standing family run Turkish cafe. It serves delicious burgers and doners. And the service is super quick too. It is one of Addy's favourite "grab and go" meal. She never got bored of the saucy juicy meat and the big delicious kebab bun. She ordered her food and went on her way.

When she gets home, the feeling of joy is beyond explanation–after a long day of work and you can finally bathe in relaxation, wash all the worries and stress away. Afterwards, she lied on her bed–enjoying how good her mattress felt underneath her body. She stared at the ceiling, thinking about the whole day before she drifted into her sweet dreams. She woke up the next day to the sound of her alarm. She contemplated a bit before she got up on her feet and start preparing for the day. Shr finished getting ready at precisely 7. 10 a.m and use the remaining bit of her time to eat breakfast and then be on her way to the office.

。。。

Addy was completely slumped in legal documents her other superiors had given her when she heard heavy footsteps coming towwrds her direction. She looked up to see Toby looking down at her with a frown on his face which made her nervous.

"You're coming with me. We'll meet with my client this afternoon and you'll have your chance to serve your purpose as an intern. As you'll be responsible assisting me in the case. Before we go for the meeting, I'll need you to modify these documents according to the notes I have jotted down here and also I need you to attend a briefing with me, now. Time is gold. Chop chop"

He said as he handed her the documents for the meeting and for the briefing. Addy ran through the documents several times before she got up and followed Toby's trails.

"Good lord, this guy sure is stern in his work" Addy mumbled in a whisper.

Toby seemed to managed to catch some of the words that were thrown by Addy, "What?" He stopped to look at Addy which startled her.

"Er, no no. Nothing" Addy said in flustered manner, failing to maintain her composure.

"Wow you really are terrible at lying too. But I'll let this slide as we have to get into serious mode and to tell you the truth this briefing is going to be insane enough as it, and stressful. Prepare your mental" he warned as he pushed open the glass door infront of him and waited for me to go in first.

"Such a gentleman, even at work." Addy thought in her mind before shaking it off and sit down beside Toby at a rather long rectangular table before a few man walked in the room.

"Mr Williams," called an older man, possibly in his 40s with a stern and low voice.

"Mr Browns," Toby nodded as he stood, shook hands with him before he continued, "this is Ms. Regbo. She'll be assisting me in this briefing. Shall we begin?" he said as they sat down. The briefing was hell and awful lot intense like Toby had mentioned before they entered the room. When the briefing ended Toby and Addy exchanged relief looks then both let out a light sigh as it was finally over.

"And that, love is how a briefing works. You've never been in a briefing before, have you"

"No. And I have to say, it is not what i expected. I expected it to be calm and maybe a little bit of disagreement as we have to prove our points and whatnot"

"Thats–"

"Naive for me to think. I'm aware. I'll do better"

"For now, you did a decent job and you assisted me well. Don't forget we have to meet with my client this afternoon"

He reminded her before he disappeared into his office. She continued to do her work and modified the documents on her desk. It was already noon and Toby had already waited for her in front of her desk before she even realized it.

。。。

After the meeting ended they decided to have lunch together in the cafeteria. At first Toby was awfully chirpier than usual. Then as if something had hit his train of thoughts, suddenly his expression changed drastically from his palpable joyous look to a mix feeling of surprised, fear and anger–in that order.  In just a matter of second, the lunch they were having, turned into a quiet meal together, they didn't even talk but each of them stole glances at each other. Tony could see that Addy was obviously taken aback by his sudden change of mood and Addy could definitely sense that something was off with Toby. When their meals finished, Toby just walked straight to his office without saying anything, leaving Addy to question what she did, and why he was acting not like the usual Toby.

It has been for over a week now, and Toby still hasn't talked to Addy like how he usually does except to give her an awful lot of documents and asking her to attend a meeting or another briefing. Addy just couldn't help but thought it was somehow her fault. She was so deep into thought that she didn't realize the footsteps that was approaching her.

"Addy" Toby called out her name and stopped, carefully choosing his words "I have a proposal"

"What proposal?" Addy asked in confusion.
