I'd like you to get into a position which is most comfortable to you. Try and cozy up into a couple blankets if you choose and do whatever is best for you right in the moment. Perhaps you can grab a stuffed animal or two to huddle up with or a nice, warm beverage to sip while reading. Are you nice and comfortable?
I sure do hope you are nice and cozy. I know it can get rough sometimes and in those times, the world just feels deprived. You feel as though you sank into an ocean so deep you cannot surface. Sometimes, it can be the little things such as making an error on a test or as big as accidentally damaging your wall. In either case, life can't always promise joy. In those times, you really just need a moment to yourself.
That is why I'm here. I'm here to help you recover from whatever is a burden of happiness to you. I'm right beside you in this fight for joy, helping you to relax. Just breathe for me if you will. Inhale...
And exhale as you just relax. Your body may be so sore from your hard work. You don't always need to keep your muscles tense. You can just let yourself loosen up. Why should you use your muscles when you've worked so hard with them? Don't strain yourself, dear subject. Let them hang limp for me.
You look reluctant, but I assure you it's only your body being stubborn to assistance. Here, let me help you relax. Just imagine yourself comfortably sitting in a nice armchair with me standing behind you, massaging your shoulders. You see, I'm here to help you know that feeling not alright is okay. You don't always have to stifle a tear when you're sad. You don't need to worry about the outside world. They're irrelevant.
As you relax, picture a scent that brings you joy. It could be a simple forest aroma or a wonderful dinner or maybe just a flower from your favorite shoppe. In any case, I decided to put a candle for it on, just for you. I knew you liked the scent, so I lit it and placed it on a nice little counter in front of you.
Ah, that reminds me. I do happen to have a couple extra things for you. Imagine me walking over to grab a tray. You see a nice bowl of whatever food you love for your worries. It could be as simple as a soup or a complex meal of self-creation. Whatever the meal is, it is on the tray for you to eat. You see, I knew you enjoyed this so I cooked it up for you. Oh, and I also have this cup full of your favorite beverage. Just know it's alright to take a sip. Think of the drink like your responsibilities. You don't need to take every one in right now. You can just let it cool before you take in just one sip at a time.
Oh dear... I seem to have forgotten a few more things. You see me walk over to behind the chair and grab a nice, warm weighted blanket for you. I drape this massive blanket over you to help you relax further. You can smell the fresh cloth and relax as you do so. I also hand you a pair of wireless headphones. Go on. Give them a try.
As you place the headphones on your head, your ears pick up whatever noises soothe you the best. It could be the simple chirping of birds or the crashing of waves. Maybe it's a particular song you like or another voice guiding you to a slumber. I made a playlist of these sounds for you because I knew you need just a moment away from the world.
Now, as all of these treats surround you, all we need to fit the last piece to your warm pick-me-up is a simple but effective gesture; a hug. However, I will prepare you for the hug with a simple countdown.
5... You can see the candle off in the distance burning away, as well as your warm beverage. Your eyes notice the steam rising from your meal, the warm blanket and your cozy seat in addition to these.
4... You can feel the weight of the blanket upon your heavy body and the warmth of the cup to your colder hands.
3... You can hear the sound of my voice blending with the calmness of your breathing and the noises your mind loves so much.
2... You can smell your beautiful candle and the freshness of the blanket draped over your body.
1... You can taste the warm food in your mouth from the edge of your cutlery. With all these senses on your side, you can't help but drop. It's quite alright to fall into trance when all of these senses are pleased. Your mind must be happier than it was before for sure. You shouldn't have a care to the rest of the world, should you?
I hope that through this, you'll feel much, much better. Just feel my arms around your hazy body and know it's quite alright to fall deep. It's valid to feel this way. It's perfectly okay to just waste away from the world for only a moment. You can stay in this state for however long you so please. It could be another couple minutes, an hour or maybe even the rest of the day. Take as much time as you need.
