Hey guys! Sorry for the late update, I was busy. This is a different type of chapter than usual, ever wondered what does happen during a showdown match?

It was a regular day in Brawl Town. Not the disastrous-date or marco-polo-gone-wrong kind of day. Shelly didn't like days off that much, and with all the cold weather recently, she was glad to be doing the daily match of Showdown again.

Everybody was in the Town Central, awaiting instructions from the speakers that hung around the square.

A familiar voice suddenly came through.

"Rise and shine, brawlers! The daily showdown match is about to begin. As always, head to the mine and hop in a cart. Today's location will be Feast or Famine."

Shelly grinned. She liked it there, it was easy to sneak up on people and blast them in the face.

Everyone headed to minecart station, where Dynamike went through the usual lecture of not messing the carts up with garbage. Before long, she was in her usual cart and they were off to their location.

This was Shelly's favourite part of Showdown, and that was riding the minecarts. They crossed a bridge across Kaboom Canyon, where if you fell you would certainly die. Shelly didn't really care, despite the rickety cart and the creaky rails.

At last they arrived at their destination, and everyone got out of their carts. Another speaker boomed with a voice;
"Alright everyone! Go to your spawning teleporters. As always, good luck!"

She went onto a pad that was unoccupied, and waited for the signal.

Please don't give me 10th place.

"3...2..." The voice said.

Hope I last till the top 3.

"1, BRAWL!"

And suddenly she was facing the center of the map, tall grass blocking everything in front of her. Power boxes could be seen, im the middle, alot of them.

Should I...?
Nope. That's suicide.

Already she could hear rustling grass, and screams as somebody was most likely ambushed.

A few swears and the unmistakable boom of Bull's gun convinced Shelly to run.

I've got absolutely no business there.

Then she spotted a power box a little while away, grinning.

"It's not much, but I'll take it." She whispered to herself, and made her way across the rocky terrain. Once she got the cube, she checked the screen that sat across the canyon, visible to all.  It read "19." Shelly cringed, and hid in a bush that was nearby.

Already 4 people were eliminated, and it was 2 minutes in.

Shelly felt doubtful.
Once there's 15 people left, it gets alot harder.

And before long, the poison gas that crept up along the edges would push everyone together.

Shelly peeked out of the grass. Strangely, it was quiet. Nobody could be seen. She checked the number of players left. Still 19.

She stepped out cautiously. Usually it'd be chaos about now,  people fighting over power boxes and someone mistakingly going into the middle.

She walked towards the center, nervous. It wasn't very smart of her to be so close to those bushes, but she wanted to know what was up.

Suddenly a chain of bullets hit the ground right behind her, and a familar monotone voice could be heard.

"You little-" Shelly began.

"Soooooorrrry." Rico interrupted, again shooting at her.

One hit her in the shoulder, making her wince. Ducking away from the bushes in the middle, as she probably could've been ambushed from behind, she quickly reloaded her shotgun and aimed for Rico.
Missing all her bullets, she gritted her teeth and slid out of the way, not getting hit by his bullets. She gulped and pressed herself behind a wall. Her shoulder was killing her, and Rico was coming from being the corner, unscathed.

Reloading all her shots, she swiftly slid out to face Rico.

She grinned. "You got too close, bud." And blasted Rico with her super shells. Poor Rico instantly turned into a powerup.

Sitting down behind the wall, she gasped and picked up the power cube.

Now I'm stuck with this bruised shoulder.

She figured she could just wait 10 minutes. Usually showdowns ended in an hour, she could wait a little. Just a little.

Suddenly, from the center, another shot from Bull could be heard, making her jump.

God that sounded close.

Silence followed the shot, and the bushes in the center rustled.

Shelly, only a few feet away from the grass, froze.

The bushes went still.
And rustled again.

Shelly held her breath.

Please don't see me, Please don't see me.

The grass parted, and Shelly watched as somebody slumped right in front of her face.
