It was a cold Saturday in Brawl Town. It was evening, the sky already dark. Snow blanketed the streets, and the lanterns that lined the road gave off a cozy feeling. Nobody could be seen. Except for a figure on the sidewalk. It was Colt.
He was really regretting his choice of wearing just a sweater. The cold was biting at his hands, numbing his fingertips.
Through the heavy snowfall he spotted a glowing sign in the distance. It read "Barley's".
"Whew." He mumbled to himself.
He made his way over and opened the glass door, the handle.
He was instantly greeted by warm air, gladly welcoming it.
Today the bar was busy, the sounds of talking drowned out the wind outside.
"Colt! Come over here!" A chipper voice called out. It was Jessie.
Jessie?!
Colt stomped over to her table.
"Jessie! What are you doing at a bar?" He huffed.
Jessie burped. Uh-oh, had she drank anything?
"Did you drink anything?!"
"Um...no."
He inhaled. "You shouldn't be here, jesus..."
Jessie crossed her arms.
"I'm not here alone, you know. Look, there's Nita!"She pointed to Nita, who was sitting at the counter and making the most obnoxious burps.
Colt groaned. "Jessie, Pam will kill you if she finds out.
"But she won't. If you tell her, I'll...umm..."
"Yeah right." Colt scoffed. "Come on, let's go."
Jessie pouted. "I'm not leaving. Not until I want to."
Colt noticed a few people were staring at them. "Fine. But when I leave, you're coming with me. Got it."
Jessie grinned. "Got it." She ran over to sit with Nita.
I still don't like that.
He scanned the bar for anybody else he knew. Brock was sitting at another table, surrounded by a small crowd. What was he doing here?
Squinting, he noticed that Brock had a giant water bottle in his mouth.
"Chug! Chug! Chug!" Could be heard.
Colt frowned. He realllly didn't want Jessie here.
He headed over to the back of the bar, where Barley stood behind the counter.
Barley glanced at Colt. "Do you want anything."
Colt shook his head. "No thanks."
Barley noticed his frown. "Anything wrong?"
"My sister is in here right now doing god-knows-what."
Barley nodded. "I see."
Colt sighed and looked around the bar. He noticed Shelly sitting not too far away.
His face went red. Oh god, she probably hates me.
She glanced at him and raised an eyebrow.
Colt leaned against the counter, probably trying to look cool, but only proceeded to lose his balance. He fell out of his chair.
Shelly giggled and looked away.
Barley looked concerned. "Are you okay Colt?"
Colt looked at th ground, face looking red as a tomato. "Yeah."
Just great. Now I made myself look stupid.
He didn't have much time to pout when he heard yelling across the bar. As he got up to investigate, he noticed Nita and Leon screeching at each other. Nita looked ticked off, and pinched Leon on the arm. She growled and began swatting randomly at his face. There was alot of screeching.
Colt walked over and attempted to put his arm between him, only to get bit by Leon.
"Hey! That hurt!" He complained, clutching his arm.
"Good!" Leon hollered, before clawing at Nita again.
Colt cringed and grabbed Leon by under his arms, dragging him away from Nita.
"No fighting, okay?" He instructed.
Leon stuck his tongue out. "You stink."
Shelly was staring at them, trying not to laugh.
Colt flustered up. "Leon!"
Leon snickered and ran away.
Wait a minute. Why is he even here, are all the kids here?
He regretted letting Jessie be here.
"Jessie!" He called, headed towards where he saw her last.
She was no longer sitting there. She was probably with Nita and Leon now...
"Nita? Leon?"
Of course, no reply.
Colt ran up to Barley. "Have you seen Jessie, Leon, or Nita?"
Barley squinted. "No..."
"Well, they're kids and they've been in this bar!"
"Oh lordy. I don't think they've drank anything..."
Colt tried not to scream. "You think?!"
Barley realized what Colt was getting at. "Oh my gosh. I'll tell everybody to look for them..."
Barley cleared his throat, and the bar quieted. "Has anybody seen Nita, Jessie, or Leon?"
Everybody stared at Barley, but there was no answer.
"Uh...everybody, look for them please. Colt needs to find them."
Colt's face was white as a piece of paper.
"Please do...they cannot be here." Barley said nervously.
In a flash, everybody in the building was searching for the trio. Nobody seemed to be able to find them, minutes passed and Colt was panicking.
We'll never find them.
Meanwhile, at Leon's House
A movie played on Leon's TV. Nita and Jessie sat with him on a couch, eagerly watching the screen.
"Guys?" Jessie said through a mouthful of popcorn.
"Yea?" Leon replied.
"Do you think Colt's looking for us?" She asked nervously.
"Nah. We're good. Wait, this is a good part!" Leon exclaimed.
Jessie grinned and turned to face the TV. No worries.
