“Have sex,” Harry’s voice called.

“Smoke weed,” He continued. What?.

“Shop lift,”

My list! He’s reading my list!

“Harry, put that down” I said weakly, my voice was dry. God, was I thirsty.

“What’s this list anyway?” He chuckled, giving me my notebook back.

“It’s my bucket list, I want to do these things before I die.” I explained, shrugging.

“You wanna have sex, Sure” He said and started unbuttoning his pants.

“Harry!”

“I was just kidding. Geez.”

“Don’t touch my journal again. And get me water.” I joked, his eyes danced with amusement at my unusual behaviour.

“Bossy little thing, aren’t you?”

“Oh well” I shrugged.

Harry walked gracefully to the door, opened it and poked his head out. “Lauren!” He screamed as if the hospital was his house.

“You know you can just call her from this phone” I said and gestured to the phone on my right side.

“But it’s always better to yell”

“No, it’s-“ I was cut off when a beautiful blonde girl walked in.

“Hey Anastasia-“

“AnastAsia” Harry interrupted.

“What?”

“Call her AnastAsia, Not Anastasia”

“Alright. Sorry Anastasia. I’m Lauren and I'm your new nurse. Karen got moved to another area.”

“What?”

“I’m sorry. I’ll just do some checkups and you’ll be good to go back to your room” she said and began noticing Harry. The signs began appearing.

Flushed face. Check.

Batted lashes. Check.

A shy smile. Check.

A school girl giggle. Check.

Twirled hair. Check.

I glanced at Harry as he gave her a quick glance and looked back at me. He obviously wasn’t into her. Good.

She finished her check-ups with small questions. She kept getting distracted by Harry. But I don’t blame her because every time I look at him, I too, forget about everything.

“See you later, Anastasia” Lauren excused herself and walked out.

“You know she likes you” I muttered.

“Well the feeling is mutual” He said and when i looked at him he was rolling his eyes. Relief.

“So you don’t like her?”

“No. I have my eyes on someone else. Someone much, much better.”

And that was when I felt the pang. Deep, deep down. Like a knife twisting in my heart. But I had to keep my smile.

“Really? who?” I asked cheerfully.

“It’s a secret”

“So, you have a bucket list? Interesting” He asked, clearly changing the subject.
