They got to their rooms, interestingly right next to one another. Can gave Sanem a look like, 'really?' But Sanem just shrugged, "I didn't book the room." Can scoffed, mildly amused, shaking his head as he opened his door. She did the same as she opened her door and then, "görüşürüz?" He dipped his head, "görüşürüz, Sanem," and stepped inside his room.
Sanem entered her room and closed the door, pausing to lean against it for a beat, wondering what the actual fuck she was doing here, but feeling calmer. She moved to the bed and placed her suitcase upon it to unpack.
Can had come into his room, still a bit exasperated at Sanem's arrival, but feeling relieved that she did at least tell him the truth about her presence. It was yet to be seen if she would keep her word and leave him be. She didnt blend into the background very well. He tossed his bag onto the chaise lounge, along with his coat and collapsed onto the bed spread eagle. He still felt heavy... maybe he'd just rest his eyes for a moment... a deep sleep took hold quickly.
Sanem had finished with her suitcase and moved it to the floor of the closet. She felt a bit sluggish, so sprawled on the bed to rest a little. The deep, regular breaths of sleep began almost instantly.
Can woke after only a couple of hours. He actually felt a bit refreshed as he sat up. He checked his phone and then texted his brother back after seeing his question about his arrival. 'Got here a while ago... fell asleep as soon as I got to the room...' SEND
Another message... 'which, by the way is right next to Sanem's! WTH?! 😖 ' SENDAfter a couple of minutes, Emre replied, 'What?!? Sanem is there??'
Can smirked as he typed his response, 'whatever bro- she told me you and Leyla sent her.'
Another minute passed, then- 'good for her!' Can didnt reply. He couldn't deny that he was actually proud of her for being up front with him about her showing up there but... he really had just wanted some alone time to sort things out in his head... without the distraction or influence of anyone else.
Emre messaged again- 'I'm sorry Abi; I just dont think you should simply disregard her.'
Can didnt reply to that one, but did consider his brother's words. He had to admit, he was still kind of pissed at his brother too for having kept him in the dark about the Fabri incident.
Having made that admission, he actually took pause, in a kind of realization. If he could get past it with Emre, why couldn't he with Sanem? It was a legitimate question, and one he wasnt sure he could answer. He just knew the withholding of the truth stung more coming from her.
Sanem stirred after only an hour of very heavy sleep. She felt so groggy, as though a thick fog clouded her mind. She rolled over and seriously considered trying to go back to sleep, but her stomach rumbled, telling her how severely hungry she was.
She sat up, looking for her phone. Finding it on the bedside table, she lifted it to check the time, then found several text notifications she missed. 2 from her sister, 1 from Emre and 1 more from Leyla. All were just asking if she'd arrived ok and if she'd seen or spoken with Can yet.
She sighed, sending a response to her sister- 'got here fine and actually met Can at the check in desk. He wasn't happy to see me, but I was honest with him and promised to keep my distance unless he wanted otherwise.' SEND
Leyla replied almost instantaneously- 'glad you're there. Was starting to worry, but then figured you and Can might be talking but, he was mad huh?'
Sanem replied, trying to keep things simple- 'sorry I didnt text right away abla... Can was annoyed, so I just told him why I was here, then actually crashed in my room as soon as I got there- I'm so exhausted.' SEND Then another- 'Please tell Emre I arrived safely as he also texted while I slept. I just don't feel like texting him myself, saying everything I just told you. I'm starving, so will go to find something to eat... I'll keep you posted.' SEND
Leyla answered, 'Ok, thanks for checking in... good luck! Love you!' Sanem just sent back a smiley face and 'ty' then dropped the phone to the mattress as she got up to change clothes.
She went to the closet, looking over her choices. Not a wide choice since it was a short trip, but she'd thrown several possibilities into her suitcase, so unsure of the direction this excursion would go. She was actually starting to feel more alert as the fog from her sleep lifted.
She couldn't help but to wonder if, ok, maybe it was hope that she'd run into Can. I mean, he had to eat too, right? But then again, he may go well out of his way to avoid her. She tried to dismiss any thoughts that were Can-related and decided to focus on herself for now. Hmmm... maybe the spa is available. She rang the front desk to see if she could get in some spa time and as luck would have it, they'd had a cancellation so could get her in for an hour treatment if she could come right now. "Perfect! I'm on my way!"
She arrived and was rushed back to get changed into a spa robe while they asked her what treatments she wanted to try. She really wanted them all, having never had a prior opportunity to pamper herself in such a way but she was really hungry too and didnt want to spend more than an hour. She started with two attendants doing a hand and foot massage each, while a third attendant gave her a facial.
After only 15 minutes, they moved her to have a mani/pedi while a makeup artist applied an elegant palette of color and glow to her face.
20, maybe 25 minutes later, she was whisked to a hair stylist who matched her hair with the soft beauty of her newly applied makeup. Another 20 minutes and she was completely refreshed... she headed back to her room to finally change clothes.
Can shook himself, not really prepared to go down that dark path of lies quite yet. He checked the time and decided to go find some dinner. He swiftly emptied his bag, placing clothes in drawers and saved a change of clothes to put on after his little power nap. He redid his half pony tail and headed out to the hotel's main restaurant.
He was led to a small table to the edge of the main dining area, adjacent to a small dance floor. Walking through the establishment, he had noticed some seemingly special lighting and decorations. He asked the hostess on the way, "Is there an event going on here tonight?" He really didnt want to have to deal with anything like that at the moment... well, ever, actually, but especially not now.
"Oh, kind of," the hostess started. "Kind of?" He questioned. She explained, "well, part of the seminar going on at the hotel this weekend has a dinner for its participants, but not as a traditional, large party... the group is split up into pairs, so they are dispersed with the rest of the guests." Can supposed it would be fine. They arrived at his table and she left him with a menu.
When Sanem got back to her room, she went to the mirror to take in the results of all she'd spoiled herself with. She really was glowing with a veiled, subtle beauty. She went to the closet and found the perfect dress to match the soft look she carried. A simple, white dress... it was dainty in some places, but bewitching in others, perfectly reflective of her own girlish, but sensual essence. Her look now complete, she naturally thought of how Can would have looked at her in this state. A small smile skimmed across her lips, but it was fleeting, turning to a slight frown at the reality of their current situation. She truly didn't know if they could come back from this.
With that small revelation, Sanem resigned herself to it. Leaving it to fate. She had always believed that she would fight to the bitter end for Can, but now, she wasn't convinced it was the right course of action. And perhaps, the fighting is what would make it the bitter end. No. She would no longer strain herself with this struggle. She wasnt giving up, but she wasn't going to continue to put more of herself into this than he did. It was time for her to let some things go... let things fall where they may and force him to admit some things and commit of his own volition. With that, she left the room and headed to the hotel restaurant.
