Mystic Falls

Rapunzel was walking down the sidewalk, her journal in hand, reading the pages quickly. She was suppose to be meeting the gang at the grill; having told Stefan and Damon that she had wanted to walk, but really she just needed some alone time. She stopped suddenly, looking up from the pages, placing a hand on her chest. She was having a flashback.

Scotland, 1673

Rupunzel was walking the corridors of the Mikaelson residence there in Scotland. It was a castle, a rather large one. Rupunzel hummed a tune, singing a song that she couldn't seem to get out of her head. 'flower gleam and glow' she hummed, little did she know that her hair had begun to glow behind her as it dragged on the stone floor. She continued to hum as she closed her eyes and swayed around the hall. She hits something, falling backwards. She let out a squeal, expecting to hit the ground, but she was caught by the handsome Klaus Mikaelson. "Niklaus! You frightened me!" She giggled slightly. Klaus was still in shock; her hair was glowing, actually glowing. What was she? He questioned to himself, astonished. "Your hair." He whispered. It had stopped glowing. Her eyebrows crinkled together as she picked up a strand to take a peak at her locks. "What? What is wrong with it?" She said nervously. "Oh, nothing, I must have been seeing things." He said shaking it off. "I wanted to see if you wanted to go out on the town." He said, smiling down at the girl who had begun to melt his cold heart. Her eyes lit up, just as they always did when the sun was shining brightly. She giggled, grabbing his hand as they rushed outside.

They walked town square, Rapunzel's eyes wandering the street. There was a festival going on and everyone was dancing, beautiful music was playing, flowers were everywhere, and so were shops. Rapunzel watched the young girls playing in the fountain with joy. Her smile was as bright as the sun as she beamed up and the man who gave her freedom. "Dance with me Nik." She said as she put out her hand towards him. A smile developed on his face, not his same old smirk, but a happy smile. It was strange for him, but he couldn't help it when he was around the blonde beauty. He placed his hand in hers and they had begun dancing. Her hair flowed around everyone, as they danced, laughter erupting from the both of them. Everyone's sights were on them as they danced happily, awe in their eyes. The young girls began to play in her hair, making Rapunzel giggle as they shouted with glee. This was the moment Rapunzel knew she wanted a family. She wanted a husband, kids. This was pure bliss.

Present

Rapunzel came to, only to meet the eyes of Niklaus Mikaelson. His hands were on either sides of her arms, holding her steady with a worried look in his eyes. She gasped slightly at the contact, surprised by his presence. "Are you alright, love?" He questioned, rubbing her upper arm with the pad of his thumb. "Y-yes, I'm fine, thank you." She said, stuttering. She wanted to dislike him, knowing the pain he had caused to her friends, but she couldn't. She truly couldn't. He removed his hands, sending her a smile before turning to walk away. Before she knew what she was doing, she grabbed the hand of the hybrid. He looked back at her, hope in his eyes. "I- I remember." She whispered. "What?" He questioned. "I remember, not everything, but a lot." She said as she continued to hold his hand. "What do you remember?" He asked.

"I remember how I was put to sleep, how we met, how we danced." She smiled. Klaus let out a sigh, smiling slightly as he placed a gentle hand on her cheek. She didn't flinch, but instead leaned into his palm, enjoying the strange warmth that radiated from it. "I've missed you." He whispered to her. "And I you." She said with teary eyes. Klaus felt whole, the girl he fancied was back and stronger than before. "I need to speak with you; but not here. Meet me tonight, on Wickery bridge. 10 o'clock." He said before speeding away. She stood there, her hand on her face with a smile upon her lips. Klaus watched from a distance, a similar smile on his mouth as well.
