Scott was racing towards the school on his bike, the cold wind stinging his face, adrenaline pushing him to go faster. As he took a sharp turn towards the parking lot, he heard the distinct rumble of two more engines approaching. His eyes darted to his side, and he saw two motorcycles pulling up beside him—Ethan and Aiden. They rode alongside him, matching his speed effortlessly. Scott clenched his jaw, a mix of annoyance and resignation washing over him.
He skidded into the school parking lot, the tires of his bike squealing as they made contact with the asphalt. The twins followed suit, parking on either side of him like a pair of loyal—but irritating—guards. Scott pulled his helmet off, his expression half-amused, half-irritated, as he looked from one twin to the other.
"You guys planning to do this all day?" Scott asked, exasperation coloring his tone.
Aiden flashed a grin, his eyes glinting with mischief. "All day?" He exchanged a look with Ethan, who mirrored his smile.
"All night," Ethan added, the grin never fading.
Scott sighed, his shoulders slumping just a bit. "Is this about being in my pack?" He leaned forward slightly, trying to emphasize that he wasn't in the mood for this conversation, especially not now.
Aiden's playful grin faded into something more serious. "This is about you being the target of demonic ninjas," he said, his voice dropping lower as if the words themselves carried weight.
Ethan's expression grew tense, nodding along. "You know, those demonic ninjas that pulled swords out of their chests and then completely kicked our asses?" Aiden said, sarcasm lacing his words but a hint of unease clear beneath it.
"Yeah," Ethan said, his smile tight. "Those demonic ninjas."
Scott shot them both an unamused look, breathing out in frustration. "I don't need anyone to protect me." He tried to keep his voice steady, to show that he wasn't afraid. The truth was, he wasn't so sure. But he couldn't let them think he was rattled.
Aiden shook his head, the concern on his face contradicting his normally cocky demeanor. "Scott, they were looking right at you when the sun came up. Like they were... marking you."
Scott's eyes narrowed, his jaw tightening. He knew what Aiden meant, but he didn't want to dwell on it. The feeling of being watched still clung to him, like an unwanted shadow. "And they also disappeared," he said, waving it off. "Argent thinks they only come out at night." It was the one piece of comfort he had—a reprieve until sunset.
The twins exchanged a knowing glance, clearly unconvinced by his casual dismissal.
"Since this is our first experience with demonic ninjas," Ethan said, his voice strained with sarcasm, "we're thinking we should play it safe."
Aiden nodded. "All day."
Scott let out a groan, lifting his hands to rub his eyes as if to physically push back the exhaustion that was settling in. "And all night," he muttered, knowing there was no point in arguing further. It looked like he'd be stuck with them, whether he wanted it or not. Stalked by the dynamic duo—just great.
He motioned for them to follow as he made his way to the lockers. The twins flanked him, almost too close for comfort. He tried to ignore their presence, focusing instead on grabbing his things from his locker. He rummaged through his bag, then spoke over his shoulder without turning around. "One thing first," he said, his voice muffled as he searched for his textbooks. "I have to talk to Stiles and let him know everything that happened last night."
Aiden raised an eyebrow. "Without us?" he said, as if he couldn't quite believe what he was hearing.
Scott turned to give them a pointed look, a hint of a smirk tugging at his lips. "Without you," he emphasized. "And no wolf hearing. I don't want you eavesdropping."
