The yetis held up torches as the elves played music. This reminds me when I first joined the Guardians. Many elves started to march out as Sandy and I watched happily. Some fairies went to put a necklace on Jack but he backed up as yetis helped him stay up. "This is the best part!" North said happily as he started marching in place with the drum and the yetis walked closer to Jack, spinning the torches like batons as Jack backed up avoiding them. Elves circled around him as some walked up with blue elf shoes. One pointed to the shoes, making Jack look at him like he was nuts as I giggled softly. "Okay maybe this is a little too much him." I whispered to Sandy as he nodded while a yeti handed North the Guardian book.

Baby Tooth and the rest of the fairies looked at him lovingly as Sandy raised his glass of eggnog and Bunny rolled his eyes. Jack raised his staff as North looked through the book. "This can't be good." I said as Baby Tooth nodded. Jack slammed down his staff angrily and a little annoyed, causing a big gust of freezing wind to blow out the torches and frost to cover the floor as everyone stopped what they were doing. "What makes you think I want to be a Guardian?" He asked as me and Sandy shared a glance as North started laughing like it was a joke. "Of course you do. Music!" He shouted as the elves began playing again. "No music!" Jack shouted as an elf who was playing the trumpet threw it down angrily and pushed the elf beside him, causing him to stumble a bit. "This is all very flattering, but, uh, you don't want me. You're all hard work and deadlines, and I'm snowballs and fun times. I'm not a Guardian." Jack said and sat on the desk.

"Yeah. That's exactly what I said." Bunny said and nudged North's hand, who wanted to hit him but I held my hand out and shook my head a little. "Jack, I don't think you understand what it is we do." Tooth said and flew up to him. "Each of those lights is a child." I said and flew up to the globe with the glowing lights. "A child who believes. And good or bad, naughty or nice, we protect them." North said, walking up and looked at the globe. I heard Jack struggling to talk and turned to see Tooth with her fingers poking at his teeth. "Tooth, fingers out of his mouth please." I said, trying not to laugh as she quickly took her fingers out. "Oh, sorry. They're beautiful." She said with a smile as Jack hopped off the desk. "Okay. No more wishy-washy. Pitch is out there doing who knows what." North said and put his hand on his hips.

"Y-You mean the Boogeyman?" Jack asked like we were joking. "Yes! When Pitch threatens us, he threatens them as well." North said and gestures to the globe as I stood by Bunny. "All the more reason to pick someone more qualified." Jack said and turned away from us. "Pick? You think we pick? No, you were chosen! Like we were all chosen. By Man in Moon." North said and gestured up to Manny. "What?" Jack asked and turned back to us. "Last night, Jack, he chose you." I said as we looked at him. "Maybe." Bunny said as we both shared a glance before looking back at Jack. "Man in the Moon...he talks to you?" Jack asked and looked at us curiously. "You see, you cannot say no. It is destiny." North said as Jack looked at Manny. "But why wouldn't he tell me that himself?" He asked then softly groaned, rubbing the back of his head.

"After 300 years, this is his answer? To spend eternity like you guys. Cooped up in some hideout thinking of new ways to bribe kids? No, no. That's not for me! No offense." Jack said and looked back at us but mainly me. "H-How is that not offensive?" Bunny asked and he took a few steps forward as Jack faced away from us. "You know what I think? I think we just dodged a bullet. I mean, what does this clown know about bringing joy to children anyway?" He asked and knelt down as he scratched his cheek with his back foot. "Uh, you ever hear of a snow day? I know it's no hard-boiled egg, but kids like what I do." Jack said as he turned back to face Bunny as he walked towards us. "But none of them believe in you, do they?" Bunny asked and stood up and took a few steps towards Jack. "You see, you're invisible, mate. It's like you don't even exist." He said as Jack nodded a little with a smile.

Bunny smirked a little, knowing he hit a nerve in Jack. "Bunny enough!" I scolded gently. "No, the kangaroo's right." Jack said and looked at me as I tried not to laugh and covered my mouth to stop myself. "he what? What did you call me? I'm not a kangaroo, mate." Bunny said, taking offense and walked closer to Jack. "Oh, and this whole time I thought you were. If you're not a kangaroo, what are you?" Jack asked and leaned forward a little. "I'm a bunny. The Easter Bunny. People believe in me." Bunny said and leaned closer so he's in Jack's face. I looked at Jack to see him wanting to cry as him and Bunny had a stare down. To break the tension in the room, Sandy nudged North's leg. "Jack walk with me." North said as I moved Bunny away from Jack. Jack looked down and walked with North to the elevator. Once they were out of sight, I angrily pushed Bunny. "Are for real right now?" I raised my voice as Bunny looked at me in surprise.

I normally never raise my voice, but struck a nerve in me as well. He realized what he said and suddenly looked guilty, then looked down, remembering the first time we met. I was all alone and just letting people walk right through me as for years I never had a friend to talk to and was always being fazed through when I tried to get people to notice me. After a few years with Bunny and Tooth's help, people started believing in me. "I'm sorry Alina. I don't know what came over me." He said softly and looked back up at me. "I'm alright but next time, you have to watch what you say." I said softly as we hugged gently. "Are we still friends, LinyBug?" He asked as we pulled away. "Of course we are, Hopper." I said as we smiled. Baby Tooth flew over to me squeaking as I realized Tooth wasn't in the room anymore. "There's problems at the Tooth Palace. Black horses flying and capturing everyone and the teeth." I said and looked at Bunny.

"Go tell Tooth we will be there as soon as possible." I said as Baby Tooth nodded and flew out. I looked at Sandy and Bunny. "This could be Pitch's doing." I said as they nodded. We all hurried to North to see him talking with Jack. They stopped talking and looked at us with confusion as we ran up to them. "We have a problem, mate." Bunny said as we stood in front of them. "Trouble at the Tooth Palace." I said, looking concern and worried for Tooth. North walked back over to the elevator with us following as Jack tried telling North he wasn't coming with us. We walked to the sleigh room as North threw open the doors. "North! North! I told you I'm not going with you guys! There's no way I'm climbing into some rickety old......sleigh?" Jack said and stopped as the yetis opened the big door as the reindeer came out while North got his coat and Russian hat.

Jack's POV

I watched the reindeer come out as one tried getting me with his antlers, Alina stopped him with a giggle. "Whoa, easy Prancer. He's not as mean as Bunny makes him out to be." She said as the reindeer nuzzled her cheek and nipped at her hair. "Don't be too flirty, Prancer." She said with a giggle as she rubbed his snout. I leaned against my staff as I watched her with a smile. She looked at me and smiled sweetly. I shook my head then looked to see a huge red sleigh with golden patterns on it and wings. "Okay. One ride, but that's it." I said and hopped in then saw Alina give Prancer a soft kiss on his snout before hopping with the help of North. "Everyone loves the sleigh. Bunny, what are you waiting for?" North asked, grabbing the reins as Sandy sat on the second seat and Alina in the back as I was in the front.

"I think my tunnels might be faster, mate, and, um, and safer." Bunny said as Alina giggled softly, covering her smile. "Someone's afraid of heights." She said and smile as Bunny playfully glared at her then went to walk away as I chuckled softly. "Ugh! Get in!" North said and picked Bunny up then placed him in the front seat. "Buckle up!" He said as Bunny looked frightened. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Where are the bloody seatbelts?" He asked as Alina and I quietly laughed while Sandy looked amused. "Ha! That was just expression. Are we ready?" North asked as a yeti tried telling him 'no', but he didn't listen. "Good. Let's go! Clear!" He shouted as everyone moved out of the sleigh's path. He hit the reins and sent us back with the force of the reindeers.
