Pitch chuckled and sent a wave of Nightmaresand towards Jack but Jack used as powerful move that caused the whole sand to freeze up and explode, causing Pitch to fly off and fall down as he screamed. I looked up to see Jack falling. "Jack!" I shouted and quickly flew up, catching him then gently him down. "Jack, how did you do that?" Tooth asked as he sat up. "I-I didn't know I could." He said and looked at his staff. I moved to the back of the sleigh and sat on the edge with my feet hanging off as I looked my hands sadly. Sandy was like a brother to me and was the main person I could talk to so easily. And now he's gone. I feel everyone's eyes on me as North flew us back to the workshop.
Jack's POV (Gonna be it fo the rest of this chapter)
I sat on the windowsill, watching the gang sadly with my hood up as the elves played sad music with their bells. I heard soft whimpers and looked over to see Alina crying softly as North comforted her. I feel so bad I couldn't reach Sandy in time as I looked out the window. After a while everyone carried on sadly as I made Sandy's figure out of frost on the window. "Are you alright?" I hear North asked softly. "I just...I wish I could've done something." I said as I thought about how close Sandy and Alina were. "Done something? Jack, you stood up to Pitch. You saved us!" He said and sat on the windowsill as well, gesturing to Alina who was receiving a hug from Tooth. "But Sandy-" "Would be proud of what you did. I know Alina is." North said and looked at me. I looked up at him and got off the sill and pulled down my hood then looked back at Alina as I put my hands in my pocket.
"I don't know who you were in your past life. But in this life, you are Guardian." He said, standing up too and put a hand on my shoulder. "But how can I know who I am until I find out who I was?" I asked and turned to him. "You will. I feel it in my belly." He said and rested his hands on his belly with a smile. I smiled and looked at him then Alina. "Go talk to her. She needs you." He said and patted my shoulder. I looked at him then back at Alina and started walking to her. She looked at me and gave a soft smile. "Are you alright?" She asked softly, looking up at me. "I should be asking you that." I said with a smile as she let out a soft giggle. "Well it's going to be hard without Sandy around but our main priority is Pitch and the children." She said and smiled a little. "There's the tough girl I know." I said and patted her head as she shooed my hand away with a smile and a light blush.
We walked over to the others to see what they were looking at and saw that the lights on the globe were quickly disappearing. "Look how fast they're going out." Tooth said as Alina winced a little in pain as North gently put a hand on her back as I flew up to the globe. "It's fear." She said and looked up. "He's tipped the balance." I said and looked back down at them. "Hey, buck up you sad sacks! We can still turn this around!" Bunny said and hopped onto the desk as I landed beside Alina. "Easter is tomorrow. And I need your help. I say we pull out all the stops and we get those little lights flickering again." He said as we all looked at the globe. We walked to the sleigh room and rode down the elevator. "Bunny is right! As much as it pains me to say, old friend, this time, Easter is more important than Christmas." North said and kicked the door open as we all walked out. "Hey, did everyone hear that? We must hurry to the Warren." Bunny said happily.
"Everyone! To the sleigh!" North shouted as Bunny stood in front of him. "Oh, no, mate. My warren, my rules. Buckle up." He said and thumped his foot, causing the ground underneath us to disappear. "Shostakovich!" North said as we all fell in. I skied on the wall as Alina as laughing happily, holding her hands up. We landed as North chuckled and Tooth shook her head from the dizziness. "'Buckle up'. Is funny." North said and sat up as I helped up a dizzy Alina. "Whoo let's go again!" She said and leaned against me as I chuckled. She looked at me and blushed softly before moving away, making me miss her warmth as Bunny chuckled softly. "Welcome to the Warren." Bunny said as giant egg statues walked up behind him. He suddenly became alert as he turned to an entrance. "Something's up." He said as tons of eggs came running out from the entrance. Bunny got out his boomerang as the rest of us got our weapons ready besides Alina.
We started charging at the stranger as Alina tried telling us to stop but we couldn't hear her over our war cries. She flew and stood in front of us with her hands out, causing us all to stop suddenly and run into each other. She looked behind her and stepped out of the way to show Sophie, Jamie's little sister, holding a few eggs in her hands. "Sophie?" I asked with slight confusion as we all smiled nervously and hid our weapons as she looked down and saw one of North's elves. "Elf, elf, elf!" She shouted happily. "What is she doing here?" Bunny asked as Sophie chased the elf around. "Ah, snow globe." North said and patted himself to check. "Crickey! Somebody do something." Bunny said as he looked at me. "Oh, don't look at me. I'm invisible, remember?" I asked, raising my hands up innocently. "Don't worry, Bunny. I bet she's a fairy fan." Tooth said and flew, getting Sophie's attention as she dropped the elf.
"It's okay, little one." Tooth said as Sophie stared in awe at her bright colors. "Pretty." She said with a smile. "Awe! You know what? I've got something for you! Here it is" Tooth said and held out her hand to show teeth with blood on them. I look over and see Alina facepalm herself and shook her head. "Look at all the pretty, with little blood and gum on them!" Tooth said happily as Sophie looked at her like she was nuts and screamed in terror, running to Alina. "Blood and gums?" I asked as Alina knelt down and hugged the scared girl, cheering her back up as she ran and chased the eggs. I flew up and sat on a egg shaped rock with a small cave. "When was the last time you guys actually hung out with kids?" Alina asked as Sophie yelled 'peek a boo' into the cave, making the eggs run and scatter out as I watched her with a smile.
"We are very busy bringing joy to children. We don't have time....for children." North said as Sophie ran by them. "If one little kid can ruin Easter, then we're in worst shape than I thought." I said and made a snowflake, having it fly over to Bunny. It landed on his nose and created blue dust as his began to smile.
Small Time Skip
We were inside the Warren where a LOT of eggs were walking down the hill. I was knelt on my staff as Alina was hovering beside me. "Rimsky-Korsakov! That's a lot of eggs!" North said as we watched with amusement and wonder. "Uh, how much time do we have?" Alina asked as we laughed at little. "Alright, troops, it's time to push back. That means eggs everywhere! Heaps of you in every high-rise, farmhouse, and trailer park!" Bunny told his eggs while Sophie was being carried on them with laughter. She went under North who smiled sweetly and waved then turned and watched as Alina flew by him, following Sophie. "In tennis shoes and cereal bowls. Oh, there will be bathtubs filled with my beautiful googies!" Bunny said as eggs where jumping into a pinkish-purple pond while North and Alina went over to it.
An elf happily pushed an egg in and danced happily as Baby Tooth watched when the elf stopped. He was ran over and pushed head first into the pond as North picked up an egg who's little feet kept walking. "Okay, that's a little strange." He said as Alina giggled while eggs crawled all over her. "No, mate. That's adorable." Bunny corrected him with a few eggs on him as well as he smiled. Alina put her palm in the pond as it was painted pink. She bit her lip and flew over to Tooth then pressed her hand against her face. "Alina!" Tooth said in surprise as she now had a small pink handprint on her cheek while Alina was laughing. Tooth smiled and started chasing Alina around as they both laughed happily. "There will be springtime! On every continent! And I'm bringing hope with me!" Bunny said as Alina and Tooth flew around me as I chuckled and watched Alina happily. They soon calmed down as Alina helped get the handprint off of Tooth then we followed Bunny deeper into the Warren.
I knelt down beside Sophie as Bunny was on the other side, kneeling. I smiled and watched as eggs went into a tunnel with different continents above them. Sophie crawled into Bunny's arms tired as she fell asleep holding an egg. "Not bad." I said and looked at him with a soft smile. "Not bad yourself." He said and smiled softly back at me. We were quiet for a minute before I broke the silence. "Look, I'm sorry about the whole...you know, the kangaroo thing." I said, apologizing. "It's the accent, isn't it?" He joked as we shared a chuckle. "Oh, poor little ankle-biter. Look at her. All tuckered out." He said as the others gathered around, looking at the sleeping little girl. "I love her." Tooth said as Alina gently brushed a hand through her hair. "I think it's time to get her home." She said as Bunny handed her to Tooth. "How about I take her home?" I suggested as we all stand up. "Jack, no. Pitch is-" "No match for this." I interrupted Tooth and gestured to my staff. "Which is why we need you here with us." Bunny said as North nodded.
"Trust me. I'll be quick as a bunny."
