Chapter Four: Extra-Terrestrial Biological Entities

"Thank you, Zeruel," Samael said. "I'm sure Master Tabris will be pleased with your work." The Nephilim scientist stood before the large tube that contained the tiny pink-haired human, suspended in red liquid by an array of wires and electrodes. On the other side of the room, there sat a line of smaller, liquidless capsules containing the other captured humans. They complained, protested, screamed, and cried, but the thick glass muffled most of the annoying noise. "Although these are just humans, they are decent specimens nonetheless," Samael went on. "You have done well, Zeruel."

Zeruel's golden eyes lowered. "What about the Lilin? He resisted me quite a bit." Samael gestured to a small glass tank where the tiny purple-haired boy rested, hooked up to multiple IV's.

"He is somewhat injured, but he'll live," Samael replied. "He may be a clone, but there is no doubt that he contains a piece of the Seed of Life. Nephilim blood runs through his veins. He may look small and unassuming, but his psychokinetic abilities are indeed formidable. He also seems to have a strange attachment to the Seraphim...it needs further investigation."

Sachiel, who had been silent alongside Lilith, slunk back and stroked his bandaged wing and shoulder. "No fair, why does Zeruel get all the praise?"

The white-haired Nephilim smirked. "Because I did my job. You're just jealous because you didn't get to sink your teeth into any humans. But I suppose I can't blame you for being inept, I can't expect much better from a child that never grew up. You must be too scarred after watching your mother mate with a dozen different men in front of you. No wonder you started torturing and devouring little animals."

Sachiel clenched his fangs. "Y-you...I'd tear you apart right now if those damn humans hadn't busted my wing!"

Zeruel turned away and strolled off. "Heh, I'd like to see you try. Until next time, Sachy."

"Honestly, is there ever a time when you two don't act like children?" Lilith grumbled. "We have the Seraphim, that's all that matters. What's even so special about her anyway?"

"No ordinary human could summon psychic weaponry like she did," Sachiel shot back. "Even I know that. She didn't even fully awaken, and she managed to slice me up quite a bit. There's no doubt about it, I could even smell it...Shizuka Hikage possesses the blood of a Nephilim."

Samael ran his slender gloved fingers across the cool glass entrapping the little human. "Indeed. Every other human we've tried to infuse Nephilim blood into couldn't take the strain on their bodies and perished...rather gruesomely. Her genetic makeup is perfectly accustomed to Ramiel's genes. It's honestly remarkable. What we have here in this capsule is different from the Lilin.

This is an entirely new species, a hybrid of human and Nephilim."

"If Master Tabris' theories are correct...then she is the mother of the Seed of Creation. That kind of power...fully awakened, it would surpass even that of a god. This is what we came to this planet for...to use this to re-establish our species...and prove once and for all that we are truly God's children." He batted an eye at Lilith. "Are you even listening?"

The red-haired giantess was bent over in front of Mamika's confines, tapping on the glass. The poor girl was terrified beyond words- and for good reason. Lilith sneered. "Aww, how adorable. She's pissing herself like a mouse. Are you afraid, little girl?"

"Oh, you won't be have to be scared much longer, not after I gobble you up, little one!" Sachiel teased. He fogged the glass with his breath and ran his wet tongue across the cool surface.
