Once inside the pack house, Ria jumped down from my arms to go shift and get some clothes on. I told her that after I talk to the Alpha, I'll come and find her.
I followed Rhys to a huge set of double doors on the top floor at the end of a very long and dark hallway. Rhys knocked on the door 3 times, then you could hear a faint...
'Come in.'
We entered a very large office. On the opposite wall from the door was a large bay window and infront of that was a big, black office chair with it's back faced towards us and a big black office desk with a small lamp on it, a cup of pens and pencils, and stacks of papers and files covering every inch of the surface. On both side walls were floor to ceiling book shelves filled with thick, dusty old books.
A squeaking noise brought me from my exploring state as I watched to office chair slowly turn around.
I was meet with a man probably in his early forties. He had graying brown hair and a light tanned, slightly wrinkled face. He was wearing square framed glasses, but the thing that stuck out the most were his eyes. They were an olive green color that looked so familiar. Now that I looked a little closer, he kind of looks like me. I also felt this strange connection with him.
Where have I seen those eyes befo- Wait! I used to see those eyes everytime I looked into the mirror. Neveah?
Yo.
Why does he kind of look like me?
Well Sweetheart, that's because h-
"It's nice to meet you Moon Princess. I see you have already met my Beta. I'm Alpha Kenny Hendrix, but you can call me Kenny or Ken. What brings you to the Silver Blade Pack?" Alpha Hendrix asked with a smile on his face.
"Well ummm before I first shifted, I-I was being ab-bused by my mom, her husband, his k-kids, and my pack. The day of my 16th birthday, which was about 5 days ago, my mother told me that she hates me and that I should've died. I left home and went to my local coffee shop. I met my mate there and he rejeceted me right on the spot and marked the girl he was sitting with r-right infront of me. I left the shop and ran into the woods and cried for a while. I decided that I would run away. Before I could run, I shifted and that's how I found out that I'm the daughter of the Moon Goddess. Ever since then, I've been running non-stop. I finally decided to take a break and that's how I ended up on your lands. This is the first time I've been in my human form since my first shift." I tried holding my tears in while telling the Alpha my story, but I couldn't. Tears starting trailing down my cheeks when I talked about my mom hating me.
I was too caught up with myself to notice the strong arms that wrapped around me. I don't know why, but my body leaned into the person. I turned my head and cried hard into their chest. I wrapped my arms around their torso and grabbed onto the back of their shirt like my life depended on it. The person held me tight and rubbed my back while whispering soothing words into my ear.
Once I started to quiet down and control my breathing, the person spoke to me.
"If you don't mind me asking, what pack were you from?" Alpha Hendrix asked.
"T-The Night R-Raiders P-Pack." I stuttered.
"Hey Alpha, wasn't that your m-" Rhys started but was interrupted by Alpha who stiffened when I told him my pack's name.
"Do you know anyone by the name of Jessica Ridge?" He whispered.
I looked up at him and saw an unknown emotion flash in his eyes, but it disappeared quickly after it came.
"Yeah. She was my mom."
Alpha Hendrix quickly pulled away from me with wide eyes. His mouth was slightly opened and Rhys looked equally as shocked as the Alpha.
"K-Kylie?" Alpha Kenny whispered.
I froze, but nodded slowly.
"How do you know my name?"
"Jessica was my mate."
After that, everything went black.
