Freak patted Dudley's old wallet in satisfaction, having just pocketed the final pounds to make his goal a reality. He even had a little more than the required four hundred and fifty pounds. He had been caught snooping in Dudley's room, and so his back may be a bit scarred, but it'd all be worth it in the end.
-
Freak could feel his face practically cracking in half with the force of his smile as he cooked lunch for his relatives. He had finally collected enough money to leave, now it was only a decision as to when. To add to his elation, Freak had just wished for freedom from his life when he had accidentally dropped his dish cloth and then stepped over it. He read somewhere that that was how a man won the lottery a few weeks ago.
"What are you smiling about, Freak?"
Not even the underlying threat of his Uncle's fury could dampen the smile on Freak's face. "Nozink Uncle."
The man just grunted before he sat down, keeping his eyes on his suspicious nephew the whole while.-
"Dad, the freak broke my computer!"
An enraged roar cut through the house as a little boy froze in his spot, his brain stopping in its tracks. *"Ach nein..."
Loud, thundering footsteps echoed in his head as a rotund man charged into the kitchen, punting him across the kitchen.
"Is that why you were smiling before Freak? Huh? Think it's funny to destroy normal people's things?! ANSWER ME BOY!"
The small boy stumbled over his words as he stared at his hulking, panting uncle. "I... Ich ... Ich schwöre, Ich habe es nicht getan, Onkel!"
There was sudden silence as a strange look crossed over the man's fat, fleshy face. "What did you say, boy?"
Not realizing his language change, the boy repeated what he said.
"I swear I didn't do it Uncle... please don't hurt me!"
Vernon's face slowly grew purple as he came to his own realization about what exactly happened, while a fat child looked on in unadulterated sadistic glee from around the side of a wall. "You spoke in their language didn't you? Did you think you could pass that by me? Make no mistake, freak, I will sooner kill you than allow those demons into my house and near my family!"
Suddenly, as if a light bulb appeared above the walrus' head, a sick smile spread across his face. "You know what, why don't I show you a little bit of the punishment you'll receive when you finally kick the bucket?"
Freak's horrified face was all it took before Vernon's eyes hardened and he scoffed. "If you think God will be more merciful than me, then you have another thing coming, nephew. Enjoy your little taste of Hell."
Freak could only scurry backwards into the wall in mounting terror as his uncle stalked him like a lion does his prey. A hand going to the belt around his waist and the other towards the little boy's throat.-
Hours later, Vernon 'tch'ed at the blood staining his clothes and pooling on the tiles around the twitching, unconscious body in front of him. His freakish nephew that had dared to speak the Devil's words in his own house, dared to destroy his son's new, expensive computer, most likely out of a fit of jealousy. This should teach him to mess with Dudley's things every again.
Hauling the freak up by one of his arms, Vernon sneered in disgust as the body dangled in his grip. Vernon walked to the cupboard under the stairs and threw the boy inside, relishing the sound of a crunch before slamming the door behind him, and locking it for good measure.
For once not hungry, Vernon grabbed his belt and wallet from the kitchen and went upstairs to join his wife in bed, oblivious to the bright, ominous light that shone from the very same cupboard he had just thrown his nearly-dead nephew into.*Oh no...
I... I... I swear I didn't do it Uncle!
