Aiden was rudely awoken to Blisk kicking his shin, some pain being minimalised by his clothing and armour. "Times up Pilot. Welcome to hell."
Aiden looked outside, to see the planet known as Leviathan. The dropship jumped into atmosphere, two grunts pulling Aiden up and moving him to the ramp, Blisk pulled a handle, opening it. A dust storm was raging outside, the noise almost louder than the hum of the Crow's engines. Blisk walked up to Aiden and fixed a pistol to his belt, Aiden unable to grab it because of restraints attached to his wrists, firmly pinned behind his back. "Good luck down there Pilot, you're lucky I'm saving you."
An act of mercy was always unheard of on the Frontier, and why Blisk? The two grunts moved Aiden to the edge of the ramp, cut his restraints and kicked him off before he could retaliate. Aiden screamed inside his helmet, tumbling through a tan-coloured blur. His helmet filtered some of the dust out of his vision, he was closing in on the ground incredibly fast. Aiden used his jump kit to stabilise himself and curl up for landing. He closed his eyes and hoped for the best...
WHUMPF
Aiden hit the sand and rolled down a steep dune, not stopping. It certainly was hell. Above him, a deep growl that shook him to the core rung out, and as he rolled to a stop he looked up, a gigantic monster, with legs as tall as a skyscraper just moping around. Aiden got up and looked around for shelter, his HUD spotting some old buildings underneath a huge carcass. He bolted for it, stumbling along the way, but disregarding anything around him. Through the howl of the winds, cries of huge flying creatures could be heard, gliding in the strong winds, looking for prey on the ground.Shelter. Aiden ran into the decaying buildings, noticing the IMC make. They were probably six or so years old. Sand had also seeped into the complex, and around the outside. Surprisingly, a few lights were still on. Aiden pushed further through the buildings, which appeared to have once been research labs until he came to a much darker and more open room, to his left, a breaker could be seen. Aiden went over and switched it, lights surging into action, some failing and others sparking, but it was a start. The huge room was a Titan Bay, all the docking towers either empty, or occupied by half-destroyed Titans, except for one, near a big set of blast doors down the very end.
As Aiden walked down this 'Hall of Giants', he noticed that all of these decrepit Titans were of the old makes, they were the first Titan generations. Aiden continued to walk further down the bay, seeing the Titan that was newer and less damaged, with only some paneling that was removed and a few wires hanging out. Its cockpit was closed, allowing Aiden to identify it. A Tone-class, with IMC markings. "What is a Tone doing here? All these Titans are far older." Aiden thought to himself. He had reached the Titan and tried activating the lift to the cockpit, it worked for about two seconds, getting him about halfway up. Aiden sighed and climbed onto the Titan, looking for an access button. Aiden found it and pressed it, the cockpit hissed as the air from inside was sucked out, revealing a rather gruesome secret.A dead IMC pilot was inside, with no signs of decay, due to being stuck in stagnant air for so long but the feature that stuck out were three long claw marks on its chest, blood stained into its uniform. Aiden reached in and pulled it out, crumpling down to the floor with a thud. Aiden climbed in, hoping that a Tones' controls were similar to a Legions'. He pressed the startup button and the Titan slowly powered up, some lights turning on, others busting. It's female OS switched on, providing a system check, unable to realise its pilot was dead. The cockpit panels closing in.
"TD-32-119 online, motor controls: non-functional, weapons systems: offline. Power levels at: 43% recommended battery replacement in six hours."
It's voice was slow and stuttered, after all, it hadn't been activated for a good few years. Aiden responded, the Titan not recognising his voice.
"Warning! Warning! Hostile Pilot detected, initiating self-destruct sequence."
Aiden scrambled to shut it down, flicking switches and pressing buttons wildly. Thankfully, it worked. Aiden immediately tried to calm down the Titan
"Hey, uh, TD, calm down, I'm not hostile, I'm friendly, your original pilot is dead."
"So you are a replacement?"
"Not quite, I found you here, sitting idle. And I'm in need of a new Titan. My legion-class was destroyed."
"Very well. No human life signs detected within planetary radius, assigning new emergency replacement pilot; Corporal Aiden Dargo of the Militia. New faction assigned; Militia. Initiating neural link."
"Wait, how do you know my na.." Aiden was interrupted by the link, green flooding his eyes.Once the link had finished Aiden asked again, this time TD responded. "Databanks from the IMC show record of every Militia pilot captured. I can access those databanks because I am plugged into the mainframe here. The satellite is still working at emergency power. There is a generator here that would restore operating power, however I am not sure where. All plans of Base Golden are corrupted or require higher access. You could try to search the base while I continue to run boot-up sequences. Good luck, Pilot. The wildlife on this planet is incredibly hostile. I will try to open these blast doors, the other building should be nearby." TD opened up the panels and Aiden jumped out, TD closed the panels, allowing her visual receptor globe to look at Aiden. Then, a loud grind could be heard as the blast doors opened, revealing a now dark and eerily quiet Leviathan.
