Shawn took a deep breath as he got out of his car. He was here to buy an engagement ring and he was, for some reason, really nervous.
"Shawn, calm down," His sister Aaliyah laughed. He had brought her along for two reasons; one, he couldn't do this alone, he needed her to be with him, moral support, and two, while he had a vague idea about what he wanted the ring to look like, he wanted it to be perfect, and since you and Aaliyah were pretty close, he wanted her help in choosing the ring.
"Good morning sir, ma'am, and welcome. How may I assist you ?"
"Uhm, I'd like to purchase a ring."
"Certainly. Right this way, sir. Are you looking for engagement, promise or wedding rings ?"
"Engagement rings"
"Is there a budget ?" the salesperson questioned as he led them over to the rings section.
"No, not really," Shawn replied.
"Alright. Is there any particular style or design you're looking for ?"
"Not exactly, but I think she'd like something simple. Nothing too flashy," he answered looking at Aaliyah for confirmation.
She nodded, "Yeah, I think a solitaire or a three stone ring would be a good idea." They looked at a few rings before narrowing it down to two.
"So which one should I go with ? I like the solitaire one but I want Y/N to love it just as much."
"The solitaire's a good choice, Shawn. And Y/N's going to love it, no matter what."
"Okay, I'll take this one, then," he told.
"I'll pack it up and have your bill ready. Would you like to pay the full amount or as monthly installments ?"
"I'll pay now," Shawn nodded.
And a few minutes later, Shawn exited the shop, bag in hand, nervous, yet unable to stop the smile that crept up his face.
