That Damn Mutt (Kankuro x Kiba)

Chapter Fifteen

It was dinner at the sand siblings household and everyone was at the table. Kankuro felt very nervous and he hated it very much. Temari was setting the table and he watched as the food sat down. He was barely even hungry because of the panic that was setting in. Kiba glanced over at Kankuro, he was watching him itch at the scabs on his arms and his leg bounced a little on the ground. He bites his lip and looked at everyone. Shikamaru was staring at Temari while she set up the table and Gaara was helping her. Kiba quickly reached over, under the table and grabbed Kankuro's hand. He instantly felt Kankuro seem to calm and let out a deep breath.

"I...I..I can't...what if they hate me..." Kankuro mumbled quiet so only Kiba would barely hear.

"They won't. Calm down. You'll be okay.." Kiba reassured.

Kankuro nodded slowly and looked at the food as Temari sat down beside Shikamaru. Gaara sat between his siblings and he looked around. Kiba moved his hand away and watched as Temari started to fill her plate and everyone followed. Everyone but Kankuro. He was still nervous about this and he just let everyone get what they wanted before he even tried. His hat was to the side and he hadn't washed off his face paint yet. Temari glanced over and watched Kankuro, she made a face a little bit. He always fought to get the first choice of food.

"Hey Kankuro, what's up?" Temari suddenly said.

"I...I.." Kankuro looked up at her suddenly and then bites his lip.

"Spit it out," She said stubbornly and Shikamaru glanced over at Kiba.

"I'm trying to, alright?!" He yelled and pushed his hand through his hair.

"Kankuro, there is something bothering you. What is it? It is much more than just your puppets," Gaara joined in, his voice much calmer and kinder than his sister's.

Kankuro looked at his siblings and he sighed a little bit. He let himself calm and Shikamaru glanced over at Kiba. He and Kiba both knew what this was about but they watched anyways. Kankuro looked down at his hands and messed with them a little bit as he thinks about it. He had it hidden his whole life and he just was freaked out at thought of his family hating him.

"Come on, Kankuro. What's wrong?" Temari sighed.

"I..I don't want you guys to hate me. Really. I just, Ugh...I like guys. Okay?" Kankuro slowly said and looked at his siblings slowly.

"Alright, figured." She smiled and started eating.

"What?! What do you mean figured?" He quickly said and Kiba smiled a bit.

"Weeeeell you've had plenty of ladies ask you out and you've said no to all. Aaaaand Kiba is here so that's kinda weird. And you wear makeup," she replied.

"It's not makeup, jeez!" He sighed loudly and then glanced at his little brother, "Gaara? Does it bother you?"

They all turned their attention to the the redhead. He shakes his head no and shrugged slightly as he formed at the food. Kankuro smiled a bit and pushed though his fake hair as he felt a wave of relief hit over him. He smiled slightly and started to eat.

"I don't think it really matter much. As long as you have someone who loves you, I think it is good." Gaara said softly and nodded.

"Cool.." Kankuro smiled.

"So how long have you and Kiba been a thing?" Temari chirped in.

"I..um..." Kankuro looked over at Kiba quickly.

"We aren't technically a thing. We never disclosed it yet." Kiba said and smiled a bit.

"You should. Kankuro definitely has had the hots for you for a while." She smirked.

"Christ, Temari! Rat me out like that." Kankuro groaned.

"Yeah, I knew that. And I definitely think we should be together." Kiba smiled.

Kankuro blushed slightly and quickly looked away to only get teased by his sister. They started arguing but it was only in good sibling fun. Gaara sat between them, as he normally did and smiled as he watched his siblings argue. It made him happy he had a family like this and then he glanced at Shikamaru and Kiba. He was excited to have his family expand too. He went from having literally no one—no family when he was a child to having this fun and crazy family. Gaara has a bright little smile on his family and his siblings noticed, they stopped arguing and sat back better to start eating. Kankuro was happy to his brother like this and so was Temari. Everyone ate up the food and Kankuro didn't feel so uptight anymore. Kiba had scoot his chair closer and the dog still stayed nuzzled between them though. After a bit of eating and talking, Temari and Gaara got up to start cleaning table. Kankuro went to help but his sister shoved him away. He smiled and let Kiba grab his hand to take him to the room and Akamaru followed happily.

"You really think we should be together?" Kankuro said slowly with a smile.

"For sure. I mean we already fucked so we can take that off the check list. Now all we have to do is fall madly in love together." Kiba hummed and smiled back.

"I mean that sounds a little out of order." He said back.

"Hmmm I might have it out of order but regardless of that dumb list. I love you, Kankuro. And I'm so fucking proud that you came out," the younger one hummed.

That made Kankuro get another soft blush of his cheeks. He bites his lips a little bit before he moved close to Kiba. He kissed him softly and hugged the younger one closer. Holding him tightly as they kissed. Kiba kissed more and pressed into Kankuro more. They stayed like that for a while until Kiba moved away. He noticed how smudged Kankuro's lips were and he smiled brightly, having purple all over his too.

"I love you too, Kiba.." Kankuro smiled at the younger one.

One more chapter and it's finished. I was thinking about doing another fanfiction about KankuKiba after I finish the ShikaTema one. Who knows.
