Chapter 10

The next morning

Jessica's POV:

The sun hit my face through the blinds in my room; groaning, I sat up in bed and checked my phone. It was 8:30! When I realized I overslept, I ran to the bathroom like a mad man and got my clothes on, washed my face and raced down the steps to the kitchen. "Morning Jess! Why are you in such a hurry? It's Friday!" "Wait a second Lydia; what date is it today?" "I think it's the 25th today." Looking at my calendar on my phone, I realized that I switched shifts with Harries today; I wasn't supposed to start until 10:30! "Oh man! Here I thought I had to work at 8, but I don't start till 10:30! I switched with Harries because he had an appointment today and had to leave work early." Since I had an hour and a half before I had to leave, I decided to make myself an American breakfast. Looking through the fridge, I decided to make some pancakes and bacon. "Lydia, you want some?" "Sure! Hey, what's it like living in the USA?" "Um, it's pretty much the same as here! Obviously, the accent is a major difference, and there are cuter guys here than there." Pouring the batter into the pan, I walked to the fridge and got some juice out. "I mean, now that I'm dating Harrison, going back to the USA and having a long-distance relationship is really going to be hard. But I'm willing to try anything; don't tell anyone, but I have actually been looking into getting my papers so I can work and live here!" "REALLY?! That's great!" Ok shh keep your voice down! Your sister is still sleeping and the windows are open! You'll have to help me get paperwork together and figuring out how the whole process works. Can I count on you?" "Of course you can!" Walking over to me, she gave me a big hug and grabbed a freshly-made pancake from the stack.

Maxi's POV:

I groaned as I woke up and heard kids throwing stuff around. I stood up and almost cussed when my foot stepped on a piece of Lego. Walking to the kitchen, I realized I was still at Harries and Em's place; I must've fallen asleep after putting the boys to bed. "Good morning sleepyhead! I was just about to go and wake you up!" "Morning Em; sorry about me crashing at your place! I guess I must've not heard you guys come home last night." "Don't worry about it. Harries wanted to wake you up with a bucket of cold water, but I told him to leave you be and you could stay the night. You want some eggs for breakfast?" "Sure. Say, did Harries happen to mention that I was interested in meeting girls again?" "Yes he actually did! Did you have anyone in mind before I start setting you up?" "Um, they just need to be adventurous, gorgeous, have a sweet personality and love being around kids. If she is the one, I would like to settle down with her and think about starting family." Hearing that, Em right away reached for her phone and scrolled through her contacts list. "Ok, here are the candidates I have in mind: Brittany Anderson, Zara Smith and Jasmine Kenworth. Brittany is a very down to earth girl who is up for anything adventurous. Zara is quiet, but once you get to know her, she does open up and she works in a daycare. Jasmine is probably your best bet: she's gorgeous, adventurous and she's really sweet and she loves being around kids. She works as a nurse in a pediatric clinic here in Sydney. Take your pick!" After Em showed me pictures of the girls, I was mostly attracted to Jasmine. I loved the way she smiled, and her curled hair complimented her cute face. After Em texted her about meeting me, she got a reply back in less than a minute. Em gave Jasmine's number to me, and I texted her. From then on, we were having a full-blown conversation.

Maxi: So, Em tells me you're adventurous; what do you like to do?

Jasmine: Well, I love swimming and surfing; I'm also into skydiving as well. I would love to chat more, but my break time is over now! I'll text you later :)

Maxi: Fair enough! I also loving swimming and surfing and I love skydiving as well! Cheers!

At the beach, Harrison and Whippet were patrolling the beach tower, while Reidy, Yatesy, Chappo and Kerrbox were down by the water at the different sides of the beach.

Harrison's POV:

Whippet and I were in the tower patrolling the water; keeping our eyes on the water, we managed to let the lads down there know about people that needed help. "So Harrison! How was your date with Jessica?" "It went good! I told her about Sarah, and she seemed cool with it. It's been like a year since I last saw her; now that I'm with Jessica, I can move on. But sometimes, my mind does still wander back to what my life would be now if she had said yes." Whippet put his binoculars down and sighed, "Harrison, you're with Jessica now. Sarah is in the past; didn't you promise Hoppo that you were moved on from Sarah? Isn't that the condition you agreed to before dating Jessica? Get over it. If Hoppo found out that you're still not over Sarah, you are dead meat. You're lucky that Hoppo isn't here right now." "I know. I just got to thinking about it, and sure, I can see myself with Jessica. But, I'm just afraid she thinks she can't measure up to Sarah's standards." "Then you've got to tell her that she is better than Sarah. There's nothing more degrading than a girl thinking they're not your worth; believe me, I've had experience." Glad to get my thoughts out to Whippet, who is like an older brother to me, I got my binoculars and scanned the water to see if anyone needed help. I was watching the one part of the beach, when a blonde-haired girl was walking in my view. There was something about her that came across as familiar; the way she walked, the way her blonde hair was waving in the wind- wait a second. I recognized the surfboard she was carrying, and I could see a faint initial written on the board in black marker: SK, which stood for Sarah Kennedy. My ex-girlfriend.

Dum dum dum! Now that Sarah is walking on the beach in front of Harrison's sight, what will he do? How will Jessica react when she's going to see Sarah talking with him? How will Hoppo react when he comes back from the wedding, only to find out that Harrison's ex-girlfriend is back in everyone's life? And how will Maxi's first date with Jasmine go?
