Jessica's POV:
I could feel someone pick me up and throw me in the back of a car; as I heard the trunk slam shut, I winced. I felt a pounding headache and rubbed the spot to ease the pain; as I pulled my hand away, I saw blood. My blood. I groaned and tried to sit up; while sitting up, I tried to make out landmarks that gave me a sense of where I was. I tried reaching in my back pocket for my phone; that's when I realized whoever took me threw my phone away. There was no way I could reach out for help. "Who are you?" My voice croaked as I saw a dark figure sitting in the front seat. "I'm Sarah's helper." "I'm sure you have a name; do you mind if I sit in the middle seat? This trunk is really uncomfortable, and if you want me to live, let me sit in a more comfy seat." Sighing, the guy nodded; as I crawled over the back seat, I felt a lead pipe lining my seat. Trying to pry it lose, I kept my eyes on Jared, who was fully concentrating on the road. Finally getting it lose, I held it close by me, gripping the pipe so hard my knuckles turned white. I had to distract Jared by getting him to talk. Setting my plan in motion, I sat back comfortably. While leaning back, I felt something shaped like a phone nudge me in the back; grabbing it, it was an old burner phone. If this worked, I could text Harrison from this phone and let him know my exact coordinates.
Harrison's POV:
It's been three hours since Jessica's been missing. There's been no phone calls, people haven't seen her and I'm really starting to get more worried. It's bad enough that she's gone, but the thing that irks me is how cool and calm Sarah is about it. Ever since Whippet and I picked her up, she's been calm; it's like she wasn't concerned about Jessica's well-being. She went about her usual way, chatting Whippet's ears off about surfing, while I focused on the road. I managed to text Hoppo while we were at a stop light, "I have Sarah with me. Something's not right; I think she knows something about Jessica's disappearance, but I don't want to scare her off." Within minutes, I got a reply. "Don't worry. Bring her by the Icebergs. The lads are there now taking a quick break; we'll buy a beer or drink for her, and I'm sure she'll spill it out in no time. She hasn't met Mouse yet, right? He's quite the charmer, so I think she'll flirt with him." Showing Hoppo's message to Whippet, he gave me a quick nod; I pulled over to the side of the road, and Whippet escorted Sarah into the bar. Turning the ignition off, I was about to head in when my phone buzzed. An unknown number popped up along with a message: Harrison, it's Jess. I have no idea where I am, but I am sending you a picture of landmarks around me; hopefully you'll be able to decipher it. Please come as soon as you can. Sarah's behind this. With a shocked look on my face, I opened the picture and I recognized it right away; she was in Hoppo's neighborhood. With my luck, I could warn Hoppo and everyone else without letting Sarah catch on. "What's up mate?" Chappo walked up behind me and I turned to him. "I know where Jessica is; look at this message." I handed my phone to Chappo and sighed. "Dude; your ex Sarah is behind this whole kidnapping? We have to tell Hoppo." "I know we do, but how can we without Sarah catching on?" "Mouse is in there keeping her occupied so this will be your chance to sneak in and tell Hoppo." I nodded, and hoped that Hoppo would catch on and let me tell him the news.
Meanwhile, the car where Jess is held hostage in pulls to a stop at the side of the road. The driver steps out and opens the back door, nudging Jess awake.
Jessica's POV:
"Hey, wake up! I don't have time for this and it's my last straw." Groaning, I opened my eyes slowly and adjusted to the brightness of the flashlight. "Get out NOW!" A arm roughly grabs my tied arm and yanks me out of the car. I groan in pain as I can feel my shoulder being dislocated at any second. "Sit here and shut up and wait till I come back." I was thrown on the hard ground, and I felt the back of my pocket, feeling the outline of the phone. I grinned, and sat up. "Hey Jared, could I please get a drink? After having nothing to eat or drink for the past two hours, I'm starving!" Jared looked at me, and threw me a bag of chips and a cold drink; I held out my arms to him, and he untied them; but not before saying, "You make one move, you're done." My eyes widened as I saw the outline of a gun tucked underneath his shirt. If I wanted to make sure I survived this night, I better shut up and hope and pray that Harrison got my message.
Hoppo's POV:
"What did you say? Sarah is behind the kidnapping of my niece and your girlfriend? I knew she was bad news the moment she walked back into our lives." I ran my hand through my hair, and sighed, looking at Harrison. The poor bloke was beside himself, and I knew my overreaction wasn't going to help the situation at all. "Look, if she's in my neighbourhood, we better get over there and see if we can scout out the car. Did she say what car she's in?" "No, but I betcha we can get it out of Sarah; she was talking to Mouse about this guy named Jared who's her close companion." That was perfect; Mouse could keep interacting with her and asking questions about the car, while Harrison, Maxi, Jesse, Chappo and myself went to find Jessica. "Whippet, go inside and stay by Mouse and get him to ask her more questions about Jared and the make and model of the car. We will start driving towards my neighbourhood and find the car. Text me as soon as you get the make and model of the car." Whippet nodded and headed back into the bar and stayed with Mouse and Sarah; meanwhile, the rest of us hopped into the trucks and started driving the 15-minute drive back to my area. Looking at Harrison in the back seat, I hoped and prayed that we would find Jess and Jared and bring him and Sarah to justice. Harrison has been through enough already, and I wouldn't want him to fall in a more deeper rut if something were to happen to Jess.
What is going to happen now? Will Whippet and Mouse be able to get the information needed out of Sarah? And will Hoppo, Harrison and the rest of the lads be able to get to Jess in time before it's too late? Keep reading to find out ;)
Wow! This one ended on a cliffhanger eh ;) I'm so sorry for being inactive; I've been busy with other stuff going on, so this story kind of went to the back burner. But I'm back! And man oh man, do I have some grand ideas on how the rest of this story will go! ;) Thank you all for the views, comments and support!
Cheers,
Trishi :)
