Episode 1, season 1, part 2
Lance and Hunk slunk through the dimly lit halls of the Garrison. "I don't think this is a very good idea...It's past curfew, if we get caught it is not going to be good!" Hunk was fiddling with his hands as Lance rolled his eyes.
"Relax dude, Iverson said we need to work on out teamwork! We will grab Pidge, go to town and meet some nice girls or bo- yeah, nice girls." Lance let out a breath after he finished, saving himself at the last second once again. Hunk responded with an exasperated sigh. The already dim lights shut off completely. "Wait, where is he going?" Lance questioned, seeing Pidge's figure walking down the hall in front of them.
"I dunno, let's go find out." Hunk motioned, following behind the short boy silently, Lance at his side. They followed him to the roof, looking at each other with confusion as Pidge sat before a complex system with headphones on. The two boys snuck up and Lance lifted one half of the headset.
"Whatcha listening too?" He asked, receiving a startled squeal from the short boy.
"Agh!- Oh, Lance, Hunk! I was just watching the stars." He shrugged, batting Hunk's hand away as he reached out to touch the equipment.
"Hey, where did you get all this stuff? It sure doesn't look like any Garrison tech." The Cuban boy asked, looking over the tangle of wires and small devices.
"I built it myself! With this, I can scan all the way to the edge of the solar system." He said proudly, pushing the large glasses up the bridge of his nose.
"Oh really? Can it scan to Kerberos?" Lance raised an eyebrow, smirking slightly. Pidge glanced to the side, looking slightly upset. "Dude, what is up with that? Anytime one of the instructors talk about it you go ballistic!" Lance spoke, knowing he was not getting an answer that easy. Hunk looked at the two, glancing at the sky occasionally. He swore he had seen and heard something, but brushed it off. "Look Pidge, if we wanna be a good team, we can't have secrets." The tanned boy continued, his voice was softer than before.
"Okay fine. The Kerberos mission was not lost due to malfunctioning equipment." He explained, looking to his two teammates. Hunk squinted, looking rather skeptical. "I've been picking up alien chatter from areas around Kerberos."
"Whoa! Like for real?" Hunk butted in, cutting Pidge off before he could finish. Lance tilted his head and crossed his arms, but said nothing.
"Yes, for real. They keep repeating the same word. 'Voltron.' And tonight its really crazy." He finished after giving Hunk an annoyed glance.
"Are you sure Pidge, I don't think aliens exis-" Lance was cut off by the crackling of the intercom and a blaring alarm. The three boys shared confused glances and scooted closer to one another.
"Attention Garrison staff and students! This is not a drill! We are in lockdown due to the security situation Zulu Niner. Please stay in your respective barracks until further notice." The voice went silent, leaving only the screaming alarm to break the fragile night.
"Uh guys...." Hunk pointed towards the sky. A large object was soaring towards earth, flames standing out against the night sky. "Wait is that a metor? A really, really big one?"
"No! It's a ship!" Pidge shouted over the alarm, binoculars pressed to his face. Hunk's jaw dropped, staring at the ball of fire as it hurdled down.
"Lemme see!" Lance reached and tore the binoculars from Pidge's hands, raising them to his eyes. "Hey, that is not one of our ships!" He dropped the binoculars as the ship made contact with the dessert sand. "Lets go check it out!" Lance took off, jumping from the lowest part of the roof and racing towards the crash site.
"Ugh, meeting some girls sounds a lot better then this now!" Hunk groaned and raced after the two smaller boys. They neared the site and climbed a nearby cliff, watching the Garrison crew rushing in and out.
"Awe man, we will never get past those guards!" Lance complained, pulling his brown jacket tighter around his slim frame. Hunk nodded, looking to Pidge for his opinion.
"You are very right, but they set up cameras inside. I've hacked into them, look!" Pidge showed the others the camera feed.
"Hey! What are you doing?" A tall male with black and white hair struggled as the Garrison crew examined him. He was dressed in a tight suit with a torn purple shirt over top.
"Wait, that's Shiro! He's the pilot of the Kerberos mission, he's my hero!" Lance pointed at the small screen.
"Sir, look. His arm has been replaced with a cyborg prosthetic." One of the crew members pointed to the metal arm that was attached to his body.
"Wait! Listen, we don't have time! They are coming, we need to find Voltron..." Shiro struggled as they injected him with a large needle. He slumped back into the bed.
"We need to get him out, and fast!" Lance stood up. "We need a distraction." Suddenly 3 large bangs rocked the ground beneath them. "Hey! He's making a distraction! Wait is that..."
