Come Walk with Me

Come walk with me,

Mind the steps,

It is a long way down.

Ah, here we are,

Look to your left,

That is the pool of politicians,

Where they swim for eternity,

In a soup of lies

And insincerity.

On your right,

Is the bath of bishops,

Stripped of their finery

They will spend

Endless days

Looking for ways

To expiate their sins.

Up above,

Is the mountain of monarchs,

Their destiny,

Is to interminably

Climb upon each other

So they may look down

On the world.

You ask me why I bring you here?

Listen well,

Your life

Is but short,

Do not get caught up

In the lies and the calumnies

Of this world,

Give of yourself,

With honesty, And compassion,

Do not judge,

Be kind to those

Less fortunate than you,

If you do these things

There is no promise of heaven,

But you shall

Rest in peace.

Now,

Let us leave this place.
