Zarie's POV

Time skip to five years.

"Hey! Slow down, You may trip and fall." I shout at the lovely five year old beautiful girl with a beautiful natural curly jet black hair.
She only inherited her father's mouth, nose and a little of his coldness.

Because of her coldness, the only friend she has ever had at both home and school is Cameron- the son of Dave.

Through these years, Iyana, the wife of Dave and I have really built a very strong relationship, just like that of our children.

Even though, Cameron is four years older than Kaitlyn, he always plays with her as if he is of the same age with her.

The bond these two children have managed to build within these years is wonderful.
They share a bond even some adult friends lack.

There was a time when Cameron came home with bruises.

We asked him the reason but he never told us until we discovered in their school that, Kaitlyn being the sassy person she is called one of the seniors in her school an old fool when the  boy tried to bully a girl in her class and they reported her to their teacher.

The teacher tried scolding her but her nonchalant and cold reaction towards the teacher made her furious so she was told to  apologise.
But she been the proud kid decided not to do what the teacher had asked her to.

Kaitlyn is too smart for her age and she also has bit of arrogance and coldness in her which I cannot seem to chase away from my daughter.
I think Zavier is to be blamed for this.

I think that is what you get for having a baby with the definition of proud itself.
Sometimes I think it is Zavier who is making it hard for me to chase the coldness and proudness out of our daughter because he is always supporting his daughter's behavior.

Back to the school saga, the teacher then told her to clean the library after school.
She accepted the punishment instead of apologising.
Yeah that is how proud Kaitlyn can be.

Since they all come home together, Cameron went to call Kaitlyn and when he saw her doing such a work, he decided it was sensible for him to take her place and did all the work that she was supposed to do.

You must be wondering how he got the bruises.

The boy who earlier bullied the girl in Kaitlyn's class teased Cameron, calling him names like," slavey"

He said Cameron was a slave to Kaitlyn.
This pissed Kaitlyn off and she bit and scratched one of the boys.

They tried to beat her but Cameron begged them to  stop and they did but when they called Kaitlyn a spoilt brat and a naughty cat, Cameron attacked them and they beat him.

Yeah I know my daughter is a really pampered kid but God knows I have been trying all my best to keep her straight but Zavier has made it so hard for me.

He was just seven at the time but still stood up for Kaitlyn.
I do not really blame him for doing what he did for Kaitlyn because she would have done same for him.

Just recalling those memories makes a smile make its way unto my lips.

An arm wraps around my body and a kiss is planted on my shoulder, which brings me back from my train of thoughts.

Just as I am about jumping, the familiar smell that I have grown to like over the years evades my senses and I lean into him.

'there is no need for you guys to give us a hint about what goes on in your bedroom' a cocky voice shouts from the living room.
