Umiko's POV

Whilst Kuwabara was looking out the window Kurama was examining himself to see if my healing technique worked on him properly. "Kurama how bad is that wound?" Asked Yusuke. "Fine as long as I can walk and thanks to Umiko I'm all healed." Kurama replied as I looked down the path ahead of us planning a strategy for our next battle, but easily snapped out of such plans as I hear Hiei say, "Either way Kurama has used his energy. That means we only have four fighters and one of them is worthless." Hiei is as rude as ever I see.

Kuwabara walked passed me with a smug look on his face as he spoke "Hey don't be so hard on yourself short-stuff." But Yusuke spoke strait after, "Maybe I'm going on a limb here bit I think he means you!" Yusuke really does have a brain. He will surely survive. I think to myself and decide not to listen or observe Kuwabara's reactions as I sense someone is trying to contact me. "Umiko, can you hear me? It's Sensei, I need to speak with you. Umiko?!"

This continues repeating itself in my mind, but each time I chose not to reply for there are far more pressing matters at hand than what others wish to place on my shoulders. And I'm not going back. I am snapped out of my focus on my mind as the ground starts shaking due to a mighty roar that rumbles through the hallway we are all standing in. The boys release a gasp, whilst I remain silent for I know full well who is causing such noise. When the roar stops, a temporary silence takes place until Kuwabara decides to break it by saying, "Well I don't know what kind of monster makes that sound but I got a hunch that's our next enemy." It is then Botan's voice then rings out of the device, "Yusuke!" To which Yusuke simply replies with, "Sorry I'll call you back." And with that he hangs up the call as I take a step forward and mutter, "He's still a loud mouth." And as if he had heard me say those words, the roar came again. "That...is Byakko and he doesn't sound really pleased." Kurama manages to inform the group, before Yusuke orders, "Let's go!" And with that we all start running through the corridors despite the loud roars that continue to pierce our ears. Having enough of this I yell at the top of my lungs, "MY TSUNAMI ATTACK IS LOUDER THAN YOU SO GIVE IT A REST MY EARS ARE BLEEDING!!" And thankfully the roaring stops, making the boys look at me in shock, but I do ignore them and remind myself of the mantra my grandmother made sure to drill into me:

Keep your emotions in check.

Patience is key.

Eventually we arrive at the top of the tower we have been running up, bringing us to the area that Byakko uses to feed off of others outside of his lair. "Intruders will pay for coming this far to my territory!" Byakko growls at us whilst keeping his glare on me, which for me was normal of the large white tiger Demon. "It's huge!" Kuwabara exclaims when processing the sight of our enemy before us. "It's a pity that they don'y have him in a zoo." I hear Yusuke say, causing me to turn to him and ask, "What's a zoo?" Yusuke looks at me in shock, causing me to say, "I apologise, but where I come from we don't have this zoo you speak of, Yusuke." He gives me a nod of understanding and was about to say something, but Hiei's voice cuts through the air as he chuckles out, "I'll go." This sparks Kuwabara to shout, "Back off! Didn't I say I'd take the next one?!" He then begins to march forward as I turn to face Kurama, Yusuke and Hiei before asking, "Did he really? I ask because I don't seem to recall. That or I was incredibly rude as to not listen to the discussion in which this took place." This makes the three of them chuckle as we continue to watch Kuwabara. However, my attention no longer is on Kuwabara or on anything physically around me, as my mind is receiving a call from Sensei once again.
