The opening night of the concert I was sitting back stage minding my own business in the boy’s dressing room, not trying to get in the way, when suddenly the door creaked open and a girl walked in.

She had long brown hair, green eyes, and a crazed look on her face. She only looked about 19 years old.

“So you’re the one who stole Niall from me” she spat at me.

“Um I don’t know what you’re talking about” I told her, knowing that it would be a bad if it ever got out.

Suddenly she pulled a gun out from her jacket and pointed it at me.

“Don’t lie, I saw you with him” she said shaking the gun around.

I didn’t know what to do; I just sat on the couch stunned. I wasn’t sure how to get out of this situation and I was pretty sure if someone came to my help she would shoot, I was pretty sure if I did anything she would shoot.

My mind was buzzing with ways to try and save the deteriorating situation. I hadn’t noticed that the boys singing had stopped when suddenly they all walked through the door laughing; that was until they saw me sitting on the couch frozen with terror while I had a girl pointing a gun at my forehead.

I wasn’t sure if any of them would try anything when Niall slowly crept around the girl toward me. I didn’t want him to come towards me because I didn’t want him to be harmed, but he did anyway. Niall sat next to me and wrapped his arms around me, as soon as I felt his touch I un-froze and collapsed into his arms, he just held me whispering that it would be okay. That’s when the girl snapped.

“You b***h” she yelled in our direction, but I’m pretty sure it was aimed at me.

“That’s it, I’m sick of being second best. Never being good enough for anyone, Niall I was your soul mate, and then you go and date this thing” She spat.

I didn’t know where this was going, so I did what I always do, I tried to talk my way out of the situation.

“It’s okay” I told her. “You don’t have to shoot anyone, we don’t want you to get in trouble for something you didn’t mean to do” I continued.

“But I do mean to do it, I don’t want you to live, I want Niall for myself” she told me with a glint of insanity in her eye.

Suddenly Niall placed himself in front of me; this sharp movement set her off. She shot in my direction, but Niall was already in front of me by then. He fell to the floor by my feet, I tried to catch him but I only managed to slow his fall. A security guard suddenly burst into the room and tackled the stunned looking girl. The boys ran over to Niall’s side and helped me lay him flat on the ground. He was bleeding from his abdomen; suddenly what I learned from my years of watching TV started to run through my brain.

“Quickly I need a piece of cloth to try to stop the blood flow” I yelled.

Someone handed me a towel from close by, I applied it to the bleeding area putting as much pressure as I could on it, Niall crying out in pain.

“No! No! You b***h, you made me shoot him. Let me get to him, I want to help him, he’s mine!” she yelled whilst the security guard was restraining her.

“Lucy” Niall whispered.

“Here, keep the pressure” I told Louis who was the closest by.

I grabbed Niall’s hand and clung tight, not wanting him to leave me.

“It’s okay, it will all be okay” I managed to get out before I chocked on my voice.

“Lucy, I need you to know that- that I love you” he gasped out.

“I love you too Niall” I sobbed. I was trying not to cry for him, but he told me he loved me, and I already was in an emotional state from him being shot.

I leant down and kissed him, he kissed me back until he suddenly cried out in pain. I just placed my mouth near his ear and whispered

“I promise, everything will be okay. I’m not letting you go anywhere.”

I pulled back to look at his face, he had a solemn face and nodded. I gave him a quick kiss and sat up.

Just then the emergency medics who had been around for the fans came running in with packs. They took over from Louis and went to work to calm Niall down and prepare him for transportation.

When we were ready to go in the ambulance Niall was placed on a stretcher and I was about to walk over to grab our stuff when Niall wouldn’t let go.

“Don’t let go, I’m not sure I’ll get you back if you let go.” He whispered clearly scared.

"Not going anywhere" I told him holding back a sob and putting on a comforting smile.
