When we all stopped crying, cleaned up, put on new clothes from a hospital shop and sat down it had already been about 2 hours. Everyone was restless and couldn’t sit still. Someone started coming near us, but all the false alarms we’ve had so far such as the guy just looking for a magazine and the women wanting a tissue, no one looked up.
“Are you Niall Horan’s guardian’s?” he asked.
Everyone was on their feet in a second staring at the person who holds the answer to our biggest fear and question. Everyone was shell shocked and no one was speaking. I think we all just forgot how to speak with the chance that this could be bad news.
“He’s fine” the doctor assured us, realising that we weren’t going to talk.
Everyone breathed out and relaxed, then turned their attention back to the doctor.
“He’s sleeping at the moment but he should wake in the next few hours. Would you like to see him?” The doctor asked.
“Yes!” all of us exclaimed at once, smiling with relief.

When we walked into Niall’s room all of us were shocked to see him just lying there with a heart monitor set up.
I walked over grabbed his hand and pulled a nearby chair to his bed side. I was prepared to sit there till he woke up and how long he wanted me to stay after.
The boys walked over and found chairs and places to sit of their own; luckily Niall had a private room so there were enough places for the five of us to settle down.

The next couple of hours went by slowly, but Niall also had the luxury of a private TV and that amused us while we were in the dim situation of waiting for Niall to wake. We were watching the end of Raising Hope, which the boys quite enjoyed even though sometimes things reminded them of Niall and the room suddenly turned tense again, when suddenly Niall’s hand was squeezing mine back. I didn’t know if I was imagining it, but when I looked up at Niall his eyes were just open and he had a smile on his face.
I can’t remember exactly what happened, but I’m pretty sure I tackled him in a hug and gave him the biggest kiss I could. When he twinged I jumped up remembering that he just had surgery, he just smiled at me and I smiled back.
