This cannot be happening.

I mumbled incoherent words under my breath in frustration as I continued trashing my room, trying to find my phone that mysteriously disappeared.

I've been looking for it all weekend. But of course, with my luck, I couldn't find it anywhere. I even went back to the mall to see if I might have left it there. Obviously, I came back empty-handed.

My missing phone plus the endless amounts of concealer I applied to my neck to cover up Logan's tracks was a recipe for disaster. Not to mention it was a Monday, my least favorite day.

My mind slowly started to recall images of our night together at the party and the feel of his lips pressed against my skin. He was intoxicating in the worst way imaginable, it made me hate him even more.

If that was even possible.

"Hey, we have to jet off in 10 if we want to make it in time. I'm sure your phone will turn up. It's probably in the last place you'd think to look, so you'll bump into it somewhere." Talia said, leaning against my doorframe with my backpack in her hand.

I sighed as she handed it to me and immediately searched the pockets for my phone. I was beyond frustrated. I'm way too attached to my phone, being without it for the rest of the weekend was definitely a method of torture.

"Yeah, you're right. I'm sure I'll find it later." I said, doubting my own words.

-

The minute I got to school, I started to search through my bag one last time to see if I might have left my precious phone in there and didn't notice.

The only thing I didn't notice, though, was the rock hard chest I ran into.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't paying attention-" I rambled, stopping my sentence once I realized it was the devil himself.

With my phone in his hand.

When Talia said it would be in the last place I'd think to look, I didn't think she meant the literal last place in hell.

"Looking for this?" He dangled my phone above my head and jerked his hand back higher every time I tried to jump up and reach for it. I was tall, but he was way taller.

"Logan, give it." I said sternly.

"Wow, my artwork looks so much better in natural daylight don't you think? It's like you didn't even try to cover it up."

"Logan I swear to God if you don't give me back my phone right now I'll-"

"Get down on your knees? Oh princess I'd like that very much. In fact, we should do that right now."

"In your fucking dreams."

"Yeah, you are. They cause a big problem in the morning that only your mouth could solve. You talk so damn much, maybe that'll finally shut you up."

"You are the biggest misogynistic asshole I've ever fucking met, I swear to God Logan I'm-" I was about to go off on Logan, but I was cut off once again.

"Ms. Madison and Mr. Carter! Get to class NOW or else!" Yelled Mrs. Butterface from across the hall, running back into her classroom before she could get an earful of Logan's comebacks.

Logan and I rolled our eyes simultaneously. Logan was about to open his mouth to say something back, but I hit his arm to stop him before he got us in even more trouble. I couldn't afford to get into more trouble, even though it killed me that I couldn't cause an even bigger scene to get my phone back.

"Well, I guess you're just gonna have to get this back at the end of the day." Logan says, holding my phone in my face to try and tease me. I quickly reached out to grab it, but his reflexes were quicker.

"Ah ah ah, no phones allowed during school hours. See you at the end of the day sweetheart." He said, saying the new pet name with sarcasm and venom in his tone.

I was past the point of anger, I was furious. I stood there, wallowing in anger as Logan walked away with no care in the world. What a fucking asshole.

The bell rang, signaling class had started. I was too angry to go to class, Logan just flips this switch inside of me and makes me instantly infuriated. I can't stand him.

Right on cue, Tina walked right past me, following Logan.

"Why the long face? Did Logan reject you again?" She said with her barbie squad behind her, giggling stupidly.

Is that what he's telling people?

"Hun have you looked at your forehead recently? Your botox is starting to fade. I didn't know plastic could melt so quickly!" I said, gasping dramatically and putting a hand over my mouth.

She huffed at me, clearly annoyed by my one comment. I took a guess with that one, but it obviously hit a soft spot. When she started to walk away, I let my smirk fade. I didn't want her to see me annoyed and think that the credit was all hers.

After finally deciding that Logan and his little blonde bitch weren't worth the drama, I angrily made my way into the class and roughly plopped down in my seat.

"Damn, who pissed in your Cheerios?" My friend Brayden said. I let out a huff and crossed my arms like a child throwing a fit.

"Okay, obviously not a fan of Cheerios. Lucky charms maybe?" He said, cracking a joke to get some type of reaction. He started rummaging through his backpack after I didn't respond and pulled out a bag of Sour Patch Kids, handing them to me.

I slowly uncrossed my arms and smiled at him, graciously taking the candy and opening it. Sour Patch Kids were my weakness.

Brayden was one of the sweetest people I knew, he always carried around a bag of candy in his backpack just in case anyone was having a bad day, which happened to be me today. He's the exact opposite of Logan. Kind, thoughtful, hardworking, and just a downright good person.

Why are you thinking about Logan right now?

Because he stole my phone and I'm furious, why else?

I don't think that's it...

Stop talking to yourself Zoey, you look crazy.

"Sorry, it's been a bad morning. Thank you." I said, chewing on one of the sour candies and pushing my thoughts away. I felt bad for being rude, but he shrugged it off and smiled back at me.

"Don't worry about it. We all have those days, sometimes we need a friend to just shut up and be there. Plus I happened to have extras and I know they're your favorite." He smiled at me again, and it instantly put me in a better mood. His smile is infectious.

Brayden might just be the only thing keeping me sane right now. Because Logan sure knows how to make a girl go insane, in more ways than one.

And no, I'm not talking about my phone.
